I wouldn't recommend repairing, it'd be too much work.
Just buy a cheap pre-owned one at your local pawn shop or on eBay.

Most costly to repair as Xen say , As I see you are using UK prices, so maybe you are in uk ?

my local cash convert sells them for £29.99....did buy 1 off ebay said it was mint came through with 2 broken hinges,managed to get my money back thinks its a trip to cash converter on monday then. ;D

That's bad, yes best to into any of them shops and ask to have a look at in hand, Also take a good look at both screens in Natural light , only you will be surprised what you can see for screens scratches in good light and not shop light .

UPDATE

I thought i try and fix it i decided to buy another game slot off fleebay only £1.99 and give it a try,

managed to do and get it changed a little bit fidderly but got there in the end lol.
