RPG usually involves leveling up, changing equipment, free world questing
I highly doubt Link can level up, and the equipment Link gets is not changeable
    Zelda is not an RPG

    Zelda is Adventure.

people wasn't even starting to talk about action-rpgs back on these days >_>

Still. Like the Zelda developers like to shown. Both Mario and Zelda nowadays is a variation and mix of game styles. Tests and more tests to find out the best way to make the game.

    But it isn't a RPG.

Just want to state that not every RPG needs levels and experince. Alundra, which most people would call an action-RPG or an adventure-RPG goes not gain levels but you improve your character through getting better gear. Another example is MMORPGs. Yes they do levels and experince however most or a few of them, once you reach the level cap, you continue to improve your character by getting gear. This is a mix of both gear progression and level progression. However I do agree that Zelda is Action-adventure. The only one of the zelda games would be Zelda 2 which is action-RPG.

I do have to say, I hope cross treasure and the other one comes ot the US. Those two games look really good.

Well this thread has gone to hell in a hand basket, I thought this was supposed to be about RPG releases on the NDS not bitching about what is and what isn't said genre.

...Well, you have a point there.

    OK then, carry on!

(...and Zelda is still not and RPG by any means)

verry unwise if one goes on a forum to get a confirmation of his own thoughts/speculations...most of the time you wont get an objective analisys. (you will tend to agree with the arguments from people who think the same as you - giving you the illusion your arguments are sound - and reject/ignore everything else. Then you accept an opinion as fact, but most of the time this tends to bring you to a wrong conclusion).
Dont get me wrong, if its supported by fact it is something verry different. But here,i think it goes in a line of "he said it sucks,so i will say it too because i trust his/her taste",you know? For me it was a bit of a surprise that it was (under)rated so low in most popular gamereview sites.

I suggest you try it.It is a solid game. People saying it is like Chrono Trigger,im starting to think they havent played it for a loooong loooong time.I dont remember Chrono Trigger having another element of moovement in the battle. The story is not similar(didnt notice the main character traveling thru time.havent played it long though).
Also, Final Fantasy games are basicaly the same. So is FF Tactics vs Shing Megami Tensei,Valkyrie Profile Covenant of the Plume. So,are these game bad too?
I seriously dont see any relevant similarities to Chrono Trigger ,othern than the cliched Hero who saves people from pending catastrophe and the combat system

There are a few flaws.Like random battles, but this could be instantly fixed if the character mooved FASTER in the MAP MODE...i hated this aspect. The GFX are gorgeous,it makes me think FF VI (good thing).
Oh,and the map could be done alot better... a quest log should be putt there too.

other than that,i dont see a grave flaw in its gameplay/design... Its something of an above-average aRPG,that I happen to like just fine. And these are my opinion(s).Find out if its true or not :) Cheers

Also doesnt RPG mean ROLE PLAYING GAME ? So why is Zelda not among this genre? Arent you playing a role ? :pP (dont take it too seriously, come on...). Yes i am too lazy to EDIT my posts.EDIT: i rectified that and edited it.The red-date-thingy stays! :D

I believe Kingdom Hearts will always be one of my favourite games because of the graphics and gameplay and also the sound used in the older versions. It gives a clearer insight to the story in the NDS version

No worries, there is a light that will guide you to the good path :D

doesnt make sense, since you take a role in every game
Halo would be an RPG, Mario Kart would be an RPG, get it?
