Yay! But I will take years until they'll relase it in english... :-\

    And about that:
Also, I've heard that characters from "Tales of..." were in the survey too. Well, Stan, Leon and Rutee were in Namco x Capcom, so it's possible we'll see them again, if SRT:EF 2 will be ever relased...
    I hope it will!

Well, actually we'll have to hope more than that.
First thing to pray for, is the Japanese release.
And second thing to pray for, is the same thing that happened to EF - english localization.

    Re: nds 2009 rpgs

Got some stuff from GFAQ board

This post is divided for length.

I'm leaving specific names in all capital romaji, except for the names I feel confident about: Ashley, Glen, etc. Sorry for my limited Japanese and English skills. I'm not a literal translator, preferring to convey the meaning instead.

    1. Basics:

LA3 will be released this December.

The pre-order bonus are: an illustration book (most likely a booklet, similar to the previous two games), and a DVD that includes the OP of all three games, as well as some secret video.

The game currently has those taglines and themes:
    "The Faeries are invading!"
    "Open Your Eyes." (in English)
    "Transform and fight!"
"The fate of the world lies on the magic knights' shoulders"
"Through day and night... Bonds are formed in the Academy, and then the friends must fight against the Faries."

The producer of the game said they have listened to the players' opinions, and made improvements. The game's theme is Henshin, so yeah, the Knights are basically transforming superheroes in a fantasy world.

    2. Premise:

More than a decade ago, the Holy Kingdom of BARUDIA was assaulted by the Faerie, Felicia. The Faeries are on an "Eye Hunt", seeking to awaken the humans' innate "Power of the Eyes". Those who are awakened become Magi Knights. Capable of wielding magic, they are humanity's only defense against the Faeries. One day, when people were gathered at the Church of RESUTO, the Faeries appeared, causing a child raised by the Church, REFI, and his childhood friend ERURU, to awaken their powers. Now they are attending the Ulgard Magic Academy, the place where Knights are trained.

    3. Combat gameplay:

Judging from screenshots, LA3's combat mechanics look very similar to LA2's.

There are now two difficulty choices, Normal and Hard.

Every time a character levels up, you may choose between two ways of growth: Balanced or
Unique. Balanced growth distributes her attribute points more evenly, while Unique growth empasizes her specific characteristics.

There are now chests and traps on the battlefield.

There's a separate status page for Lapis.

    The UI has been improved:
The upper screen now displays action orders.
In the display before deciding an action, the UI now shows the three factors: Element Bonus (zokusei), Direction Bonus (houkou) and Height Bonus (takasa).

    4. Adventure gameplay:

This seems to be the new emphasis of LA3.
It appears similar to Sakura Wars: player seems to take direct control of REFI, and move inside the Academy. The upper screen shows a map and current time. Story events are marked on the map with "!". Obviously, doing things take time, and events only happen at certain times of the day.

The confirmed locations of the school are:
    Canteen, sells items.
Training room, where character's status can be raised.
Fortuneteller's place, where lucky charms can be given to party members, raising their FP.
    Cafeteria.
    Library.
    Health care.
    Chapel.
Dormitory. Every student here has her own room!

    5. Adventure (continued):

    The game has multiple endings.

There appear to be three stars below FP meter. So the FP meter has three phases or what?

The Intermissions still take place after battle. Now there are Intermissions for non-combat characters.

One screenshot shows an Intermission with Ashley. It has 4 choices.

The other Intermission screen shows REFI writing something together with the school librarian. It has 2 choices.

    6. Speculation on the characters

Each Knight, in combat form, wears a kind of blue orbs, which might be their Lapistier. I'll refer to those as "jewels".
I must thank this blogger, she identified the references in the character designs.
    http://choinoshika.blog35.fc2.com/blog-entry-1411.html

    --The main four:

    REFI
    CV: Ono Daisuke

He doesn't fasten the buttons of his coat when everybody does. That's a basic hint about his attitude to life.
His jewels are very large, located on the shoulders.
He wields a gigantic, translucent purple sword.
A screenshot shows his Class to be Berserker.
His elemental icon looks like a black spiral.
The color scheme of his combat form pays homage to Ultraman (see below for explanation).

Speculation: He is the Knight of Purple Clouds, and his element is Wind.

    Glen (GUREN)
    CV: Sugita Tomokazu

Leader of "MEIGASU" the group that governs the school. ("MEIGASU" seems to be simply "Magus". The Knights are called Magi, yet the school commitee of Magi is called Magus!?)
Obviously serious. Let's look forward to Sugita Tomokazu's acting as a serious character!
He wields a fiery polearm, which looks like Lu Bu's Fangtian Huaji.
The illustrations don't show it, but he wears a helmet in battle.
Both his scarf and his gauntlets are signatures of Kamen Rider, so it's from here we learn that LA3 contains reference to henshin heroes.

Speculation: The preview calls him Purple Clouds, but I suspect this is a mistake; his element is clearly fire, and his title must be Red something.

    ERURU
    CV: Nakamura Eriko

    The main heroine.
The "Eye Hunt" has caused illness in its victims (I suppose that's what happens to those without Magi potential). ERURU is now studying healing magic in order to help them. She believes in food therapy, so she's also learning to cook, and is a fairly good cook now.
She wields a staff that also can be played as a flute.
Her jewel is located at her back, just below the neck.
    The Knight of Blue Healing.
Her elemental icon seems like a blue drop of water.

    Ashley (ASHUREI)
    CV: Mizuki Nana

Leader of Disciplinary Commitee. Second-in-command of MEIGASU.
She wields a dagger (right hand) and a sword (left hand). So she's left-handed?
Her jewel is located at the chest.
    The Knight of Black Rose.
Her elemental icon is a purple, rose bud-like spiral.

    Other Knights:

    Heine (HAINE)
    CV: Yoshino Hiroyuki

An upper-classman. Dislikes combat, and are good enough at escaping and defense. Likes cute things, and has a radar-like sense for them.
Seriously, a wooden Moai breastplate!? Even for comic relief character, that's too much.
    A kamekameka pose...

Speculation: Most likely the Wood/Nature Knight. Is it true that Nature never gets to play the main characters in LA, or is there still things not revealed?

    INARUNA
    CV: Sawashiro Miyuki

Princess of the Kingdom. Cheerful, ignorant of the outside world.
Her real name is INAARUNADIA. INARUNA is a nickname.
Her jewel is located at her forehead.

    Speculation: Light? Is Ashley Dark?

    Other characters:

    VARERI
    CV: Nakahara Mai

    The drillmaster.

    Fran (FURAN)

    The stereotypical school nurse.

    Samantha (SAMANSA)

    The fortuneteller

Great information on LA3. I love the character designs and the story! Though I only got an emulator and LA and LA2 lags on no$gba w/ zoomer which makes me envy you guys more. Anyway, any game that involves massive war and chaos I go hyped on it. Hopefully, it won't lag this coming december. lol. I expect much on this game. ;)

Every game feels and plays differently on the DS compared to playing it from an emulator. And the difference is good all around.
With that being said... darky000... Just buy one already! X_X

How would anyone rate the visuals in any of the LA games? I personally haven't tried it yet...

Nostalgia looks so good. <3 Since reading that it brings to mind Skies of Arcadia, I've been waiting for it eagerly. Also, Sega's space RPG with ship & on foot battles... can't remember the name.
