My favourite parts are the witches(duh), the intermission,and the funny lines.

I thought the best part was that intermission with Sadie where to get the best break you have to choose 'Look under her skirt'...

Here's another game from Level-5 and Studio Ghibli...

New EarthBound “Another World”?
March 28th, 2009

A few folks have pointed out that the character in the latest mystery screenshot is probably based on another Level 5 production called “The Another World“.

Again, here’s the recent screenshot we’ve all been pondering about:

The pics you see above are meant for the DS version of the game, but the announcement (from last September) also has a vague “a version for another platform is to be released as well”, which could very well be referring to this ROID system that Level 5 is opening up this June.

Incidentally, the game’s animation is being done by Studio Ghibli and the music by Joe Hisaishi. You can see the TGS trailer for the DS game here. And, although it’s a tenuous connection, Shigesato Itoi and Studio Ghibli are on extremely close terms.

In any case, it’s definitely looking like this EarthBound-ish screenshot has something to do with this The Another World thing. We’ll have to wait for more details first to figure out the full story of what’s going on, like why they’d specifically choose EarthBound-style graphics and why they’d release a teaser image meant to give the wrong impression.

Anyway, I’ll try to keep on top of the story. If anyone comes across any info, let me know! The best way to get my attention is through here; otherwise, sometimes blog comments get stuck in spam or moderation and I won’t see them for a while.

Hopefully it will, haven't seen any info on it yet, but SquareEnix seems to do well so I wouldn't doubt it will happen might be later than sooner if they pull some shit like they did with Dragon Quest IX.

Fantasy Life's collection of lives

Level-5 released character art of people working in the twenty different job-based "lives" in the developer's newly announced Fantasy Life. The designs show the very Little King's Story-esque style being used by character designer Hideo Minaba, which is going to charm the money right out of our bank accounts. Each one of these lives represents a unique set of quests, and a unique ending with a different Nobuo Uematsu vocal theme.

The identity of each Life isn't labeled, though Andriasang printed a list from Famitsu magazine of all the jobs to go along with the picture. Many of them seem pretty obvious given the tools in their hands, and six of them are outright revealed by a second picture. Both images, and the list, are available after the break.

100+ hours of gameplay,
More sidequest,
Interesting gameplay,
interactivity..
and of course.....romance is what I'm looking for.... XD ;D

Sakura Note trailer elicits tears of nostalgia

The trailer for Audio Inc.'s new DS game Sakura Note leans heavily on the "nostalgia" angle, showing images of Japanese kids on summer vacation, running around town to the sounds of cicadas and a somber Nobuo Uematsu piece. Even the gameplay description, which refers to "simple action buttons," is a callback to the Famicom era.

The in-game footage, with its combination of lush, hand-drawn backgrounds and pixelated sprites, makes us nostalgic -- for Audio's last game, Contact. This is the first real look we've had at the new game, and we're glad to see it's as lovely as the artwork.

As for the gameplay itself, it features segments in which you control a cat or a dog, and includes some mechanic involving collecting a boss's tears.
