i like the N64 better just because of Blitz alone.. that game was tremendously badass not to mention perfect dark pretty much set the standard for FPS profile stat tracking/leveling... also NBA Hangtime which was also a blast to co-op with a friend.. Killer Instinct Gold.. Mario Golf/Tennis all good.. and i never owned a gamecube but they were great too when i got to play one

I will have to say the Gamecube. I really like the system itself and it also has Oot on it which makes it even better :)

Oh yeah... I forgot about the extra disc that came with some copies of Wind Waker...
That screws up my evaluation of the quality of games for the two consoles quite a lot : /
I played OoT about 2/3 of the way through on GC before getting bored. I never played MM on GC, but a quick Google tells me it was full of glitches and possibly a few save problems; so maybe that was for the best. I'm tempted to go with the Gamecube now; but MM was too good... I'll stick with the Nintendo 64.

Everyone in the US who pre-ordered WW got the master quest bonus disc

And the first...what 100 people who bought it in Australia got it as well.

I had to buy my copy from ebay...sure I had one from eb for $22 (just he bonus disc) but..I like originality :(

*Sigh* since my opinion is deemed invalid, I'll choose n64.

Countless classics compared to the gamecube, sure gc has re4, but I still reckon mario kart 64 was the best.

There was also a certain time where if you bought a GC, you'd get the Master Quest Disc. I had one when I got a GC.

No, that was the "collector's edition" (which I own), also had majora's mask, the original zelda, as well as orcarina of time.

Plus a wind walker demo, at least that's the Australian promotion (the only way to get said disc here when it first came out)

    I didn't have either.

I play them both now through emulation and i have to say gamecube is the best

    Oh yeah...I forgot...

And I know why, I didn't like that 2-D rpg thing...reminds me of another NES game I had...the battle for Olympias I think?

Same think, hack slash, travel world, etc...still if I found it in real life I'd buy it, it's rare.

Thats how I got mine as well. To tell you the truth my very first system was the Gamecube. I did not even know Oot even existed until I got it with my gamecube x_x. I started playing it when I was around 12? I think? Well I could only beat the first 3 bosses cause I was SUPER FREAKED by the redead. So I was never able to get out of the castle when I was old link. But I was eventually able to beat the whole game and MM as well.

You beat MM on that collection? From my recollection, it was buggy and froze a lot.

Yeah I did. I did not experience any bugginess at all. It worked perfectly for me and never froze.

quite true, banjo-kazooie was easy one of the best platformers of all time.. and play & trade is a good source if you ever want any older gen games .. they even carry atari games but are discontinuing the sale of PC games for some stupid reason..

Why is everyone choosing N64? GC is the obvious choice.

    I like the N64

but the gamecube is 124-bit and the N-64 64-bit.
So the graphics of the gamecube are more beautifull (like mario sunshine, windwaker, twilight princess,...)

but I prefer the N64 with his awesome games (OOT, MM, Super smash brother, super mario 64, ...)

    I completed OOT in 6 months :D,
those epic games will not be made anymore (completed spirit tracks in a week).

    I've only got 5 games:

    - super mario 64

    - TLOZ: OOT

    - TLOZ: MM

    - Mariokart 64

    - Diddy kong racing

    My favourites
    N64:

    Perfect Dark
    Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2
    Majora's Mask
    Ocarina of Time
    Goldeneye 007
    Smash Bros
    Lylat Wars (Star Fox 64)
    Mario 64
    Mario Kart
    Banjo
    FZero X
    Diddy Kong
    1080
    Paper Mario
Mario Party (they really fucked that series on Gamecube...)

    Resident Evil 4
    Smash Bros Melee
    Wind Waker
    Soul Calibur 2
    Mario Sunshine
    Paper Mario
    Fire Emblem
Tales of Symphonia (gotta love that battle system)

  20. N64 has a few classics gamecube lacks,
Other than gamecubes graphics, I'd have to say N64 For the win!.
