I don't think that music can change your personality through regular listening : /
I know what it feels like to be affected by music on a personal level though; feeling like a song at that exact moment is just completely in synchronisation with your thoughts and feelings...

Some songs feel special to me because they call my mind back to a happy or important time in my life, or make me think of good things in the future. I sometimes find myself purposely ignoring or silencing songs that are important to me if they're just being played in normal circumstances because I feel that I won't appreciate them as much when I really want to embrace them through desensitisation. This may be because I'm weird like that though... @_@

    Quite fitting...

You still haven't explain HOW korn makes people homosexuals?

Does listening to nine inch nails "f*** you like an animal" make me a sex freak?

What about Otep's "smash the control machine"-does that make me a tool for ruining our society?

Seriously, you need proper reasons and prehaps proof...

Listening to Korn does make you a raging homosexual, you want proof? Just look at your reaction mds.

To be fair; he is half right. I've been listening to Word Up all day on a loop, and even though it hasn't made me gay; the voice that I share the inside of my head with has been mincing around for hours ' _ '

This guy is not that far off.
Your mood and mental state depending on which music you listen to.
*Results may very from person to person.
    As for me;
Classic music helps me think, metal makes me rage, NEW RAP makes me aggressive, OLD SCHOOL RAP puts me in a dancing mood, Trance helps me concentrate, and rock entertains me.
Now music (as far as I go) only effects how I feel, not my sexual orientation.
As far as sexual orientation goes, refer to psychological and genetic science.

We can all agree that music effects your mood. So, isn't it only logical to assume that it has some kind of long term effect? I think everything you experience effects the way you think forever. Just like how everything you do causes a chain reaction and changes everyone's future. Everything you experience contributes to you in some way.

    Sounds reasonable...

With me,music can block out certain emotions but not change them, gimme hard core techno, I won't rave, I might even fall asleep to it if I'm calm enough...

Same with heavy metal, I fallen asleep to Korn, Slipknot, etc...gimme something sad and I'm sad, and it may enhance the feeling...if I'm netral it'll only make me think of a few things in life that could of been better.

Other than that, no, if I'm angry I'd put on metal first, if I'm happy I might put on metal, my emotion doesn't change, seems to me it enhances possibly...depends on the music and your metal state.

It's usually slower beats that stop me in my tracks.

How a person is effected by something is dependent on the person.

I think we are all becoming a product of the media.

I guess if you like that pop-tart stuff prehaps.

My taste isn't mainstream so I guess I'm not affected, heck no tv...ad-block killing all internet ads...

I'm a product of myself and bargin shopping.

The media is everything. All electronic entertainment. Music, TV, Movies, Internet. It's not what the media are obsessing about at the current time.

It was at some point, but it's always changing...

One point is was (c)rap, another was (extremly) heavy metal, and classic pop which...I kinda respect more than today's pop (tarts).

Maybe when we have hover cars hard core techno would be mainstream...let's hope not.

Don't know if I can relate to much of this, but music I listen to doesn't affect my way of thinking just changes my mood, which in turn I guess would change my way of thinking...so now I have contradicted myself I will explain.

I listen and prefer Death,Doom,Gloom,Melodic Metal. I understand this is deemed as "Angry Music" or what have you but for me it actually calms me down and helps me clear my head from stress its also the same effect I get when I drink a shit load of caffeine I get sleepy. Now anything Country,Rap, R&B sets me the fuck off and I can easily go into a rage and generally be an absolute dick.

Now figure that one out! :p

i think it's simply because of different tastes,

example, if i actually listen to melancholic tracks, i get sleepy. if i listen to heavy metal, all i listen is rambling. if i listen to any kid's show jingle, i get murderous tendencies.

I get sleepy from hearing random bleeps from the Radio.
