but doesn't needed content run on it sometimes?

know how for me to backup those blocked image sites? settings, load images automaticly, blocked sites.

i blocked out all the adult ads on the torrent sites and stuff that harasses me on others. but it's a bit of work to redo.

the only site that *needs* it is windows update, and there's windiz update (windowsupdate.62nds.com) as an alternative.

the only way of backing up the blocked sites list is to back up and restore the profile folders, but why would you want to? Just install adblock plus.

they are inpage ads, not popups. most common is the adultfriend. you load the page and they show up similar to the banner ads on RomU. by blocking the graphics it seems to in the least give me a more enjoyable experience of web surfing. same reason i run a modded msn messenger 8.1, i removed all the True ads, which is a dating website. so no ads and a cleaner interface.

Edit: i'm going to keep microsoft up to date using the microsoft update thing that is in the start menu, is that ok? since i can't destroy IE all the way anyway. nor have the desire to go through the effort.

ABP stops in page ads as well as popups.

M$ update is just a new name for windows update essentially (although it also covers office etc)

i dont want to hurt RomU ads, so configure it to allow this site? and im trying to keep a small footprint, FF runs faster than ie on my machine right now, much demand for the ad thing?

ABP doesn't really have any effect on speed. When you're on romulation click the abp menu (down arrow next to the button) and click 'always allow on www.romulation.net' When you first run firefox after installing abp, it will ask you to choose a subscription. If you're in the US you want to choose easylist, if not you want easylist + X where X is the one closest to your location (e.g I'm in the UK so I use easylist + liste fr)

i drifted it, to avoid another topic.

im still haveing better performance with FF than with IE. even with weather apps and stuff running. im never going to move onto IE8, afraid of its crappiness. now we're on topic. thanks. i'll keep it updated if there is any speed trouble.
