    What's wrong with this? I don't see a problem.

Dude, feminism means the thought about equality among men and women. A feminist is a person who supports the idea. Even a male can be a Feminist.

And...what the heck are babbling about ranks of feminist?

Women are always going to be jealous of us superior men, let them get on with it.

Not sure if serious... Jokes and blatant sexism aside, the problem is that they are accusing people that pertain to fairly innocuous views of being something substantially more criminal (a rape endorser). I don't endorse rape just cause I think having sex on drugs and a cultural notion of sexual liberation are awesome. It just means I like those things for fairly obvious carnal reasons.

Edit: You don't support rape unless you support rape and saying that anyone does under any other circumstances is accusatory and childish.

There are extremes with any group, to be sure. I think feminists are - or at least should be - people who more aware of discriminatory things around them, rather than just letting it slide. The more women OR men support things like sexist jokes, rape jokes, violence against women jokes, the more society lets it slide, too. I don't know how many people here notice just how much violece against women still occurs, but it's a LOT. Now many men have taken to ridiculous statements like "well, women beat men too...sometimes. It happens, you know." Sure it does, but not on this scale. I think the statistic I always see is 1 out of 3 women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime. That;s ****ing insane. I wonder how many females on this board have been assaulted? It's something that needs to be addressed and we're still not there yet.

I even get annoyed by commercials that still highly objectify women - Axe commercials drive me up the wall, but I have girlfriends who think they're funny. There's a beer commercial (ikr) Keith's I think? Where a guy goes to his buddies house, grabs his buddy's gf and kisses her, the voiceover saying "some things you don't share..." I hate that commercial. What I see is a woman being sexually assaulted, basically, and then the narrator referring to her as a "thing" - property of the man. If some dude came into my home and, grabbed me and laid one on me he'd be walking home either bowlegged or in handcuffs. Maybe I take it too far or maybe I'm just hyper sensitive and notice more. What I do know is I don't hate men in the least nor do I think them inferior, I just wish both men AND women would recognize women's issues more because we still have a long way to go.

Oh yeah and I get really annoyed by those diet coke adverts where the women stop the lift just to stare at the guy like a sex object.
Lighten up, its just a bit of fun, there's a whole world of difference in a joke and sexual assault.

Buchichu raises a point that doesn't really ring true to me. Sexist jokes/racist jokes don't really support the notion of sexism or racism imo. I like some sexist jokes, I find them humorous, likewise with racist jokes. There's also some jokes brought up by comedians talking about men being stupid or something similar and I wouldn't really consider that sexist either. The way I see it is the farther we are passed with these issues the more socially acceptable it becomes to not only talk about it but joke about it too. Saying that it's all hush hush just takes it backwards a couple steps back, and makes a non-issue an issue. This is kind of an opinion thing really, similar to say if a girl stripping/dancing is either empowering to women or not.

It's not also really well known but there's a lot of media that points to women treating men like objects, similar to what msg said.

The only feminist issues going forward that I can even think of at the top of my head is equal pay/position at the workplace and how women are treated in other cultures. For the later, it's getting better and better, for the latter, that's a far ways off.

It's a shame you fail to recognize the number of assaults committed against women every single day on our streets, in our schools, next door to us, in our own homes.... I guess it's easier to turn a blind eye to it, but it's sadder when a woman does it, IMO.

Again, you bring sexual assault into every "point" you make.

Yes, because it's a huge women's issue that seems to be getting ignored here just as it's ignored elsewhere. Like I said, you can stick your fingers in your ears and hum if you like, but that kind of attitude only contributes to the problem. You shouldn't be choosing to be ignorant about something so important.

I fail to see the correlation between making a joke and assault towards women, it's irrational and doesn't make any sense.

Like in your previous post, you said something about the commercial. The narrator treating her like a thing the point of that beer commercial is that it's ridiculous that someone would do that, it's not saying it's okay to do that, or go do that. It infact states 'somethings you don't share'. A women being sexually assaulted would only be true if that was something that actually happened, but it's not, it's just a commercial. Hell, it was a friend's girl friend too, not some man going into the woman's house to kiss her.

Oh man, this. I always get really edgy when I'm in public and around women and stuff because I worry they're gonna be staring at my ass. I mean, seriously. These ads perpetuate a terrible standard.
