But I thought that all those charges were already settled.

Still, its piracy. They arrested the majority of the higherups, not just Kim.

"Megaupload was unique not only because of its massive size and the volume of downloaded content, but also because it had support from celebrities, musicians and other content producers who are most often the victims of copyright infringement and piracy."

    Go figure.

RIP Megaupload.... Few months ago (year 2011), Malaysia was blocked that website because of piracy for movies and songs. Now, entire world will shutdown completely....

MegaUpload DOES have a reason to have sanctions, it seems. But taking all of it down is going too far.

huffington post are massaging the truth a bit there. the terms and conditions of the reward program stated that if any of your uploads were found to be infringing of copyrights you wouldn't get paid.

Most people are getting really hysteric about this. File Hosting server/site down? Get to another one. All your stuff online? Why the hell did you do that? This is why I don't upload personal or work-related stuff online.

Yes, I agree, it's going too far, but it's just a File/Video/Porn hosting site.

    1. This is a two year old case, it is completly unrelated to SOPA. If anything it shows that SOPA is uneeded and that current legislation is capable of dealing with online piracy.
    2. Communism? Might want to go read a dictionary.
    3. Overreact much? I'm pretty sure the 4% will just go it elsewhere - be it rapidshare, mediafire or one of the dozen of other similar sites.

might want to see whats going on! the bill that they want to pass. SOPA states: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c112:H.R.3261:

basically what this bill says, the US military has the right to detain you : indefinitely if they so choose, without trial. This stretches far broader then just online piracy
this is an in fragment on so many levels, communism is like this, locks you up for speaking out! and detains you for no immediate reason, and indefinitely? that’s just wrong! like i said communism movement

america your screwd if this passes

No, communism is not like that, go look it up.

HINT: 'communist' countries such as china and north korea are not actually communist.
