    the world "ended" many times before.....
    it's just peoples' superstition...
    we were supposed to be dead a long time ago... still here... we da shiet :p
    before the 1900's.. there were a bunch of "judgement days"... it was there like.... every decade or so...
    point is... this world will not end any time soon, well it may have already ended for some... you choose the ending, as they say, the world is in your hands..

    Can't they just decided doing all this was boring and just quit it?
    And I don't really see the point of calling them stupid,really.

    The Mayans aren't even really "extinct" are they? They still have descendants, even if their empire might not exist. It's not like these people magically vanished.

    It's not really that big of a mystery. Large empires and civilizations throughout history disband due to any number of reasons. Just look at the history of Europe, North Africa, etc.
