    AAArghh!!

Another transport strike is scheduled this Monday May 12, here in the Philippines as a plea from the transport sector to the government to act & prevent the next set of oil price increases set to happen in the following weeks.

The Transport sector is making the plea as oil prices will once again increase by an unbearable Php1.50 per liter.

As one of their demands the various Transport Associations in the country is asking for the approval of an addition of Php.50 centavos for the minimum 5km minimum fare price, & the approval for an additional Php1.00 in the following months. A major burden for commuters, especially for students & the elderly.

The government yet again wants the Transport sector to buckle up & avoid said fare increase & again promises a Public Utility Vehicle discount at petrol stations. In retaliation, Transport groups stress that this "program" of the Arroyo administration is an epic FAIL as the discounts are fairly small.

the fare goes up and up anyway so I won't be surprised if it reaches about 15php in the future

they're pretty much controlled so there is nothing we can do at the moment besides watching patiently as the prices of certain commodities go up and up

Ok, so because it was raining heavily yesterday (Philippine time) said mass transport strike didn't happen. But still, the issue remains, because of the extreme rise of fossil fuel prices the transport sector really needs to have an increase in fare prices.

Prices going up and down, like a damaged elevator. Our country, Philippines, IS the most corrupted country
ever. All of those price hikes, flying-voters and, black marketing. Corrupted people are so stoopid(revise).

And I don't care about what's goinon in their own lives. It's not the president's fault but the people who are
incharge of the department, their the ones to blame.

The continuous rain is like sign, marks the dawn of a new revolution or something. Or plain old pollution contaminated
our home planet and changes the weather pattern causing massive rains, tornadoes and flash floods. Killing several
    people, the poor souls.

So Pollution adds Corruption equals to KILL.

Man, if the fare goes up, our peso needs to go down, and we get a higher pay, liek japan, ther currency is weak, but everyone has alot of money... That'd help the Philippines a whole lot more though

our peso doesn't need to go down :| and wages don't have to go up either for most jobs from an economics stand point. Its all about the distribution of wealth in the country and sadly it sucks. Besides only way to get out of the sink hole of poverty is to get educated so that you can get better jobs than what your parents had and build on that but seeing as how education costs are rising every year our future is fucked :p

Another reason why those won't help is because of the attitudes of many Filipino people who would rather drink late at night to the wee hours in the morning than save or invest their money for their future. True our government is corrupt and make the future look bleak and hopeless but imo we're just using that as a convenient excuse to sit on our ass and do nothing.

But the Filipino people do do things to improve their lives. Isn't it that the biggest sacrifice a Filipino does is leave family & friends behind & work abroad? Even if they stand the chance of being exploited by recruiters & employers?

But then again, some of those who do get better lives from working overseas tend to get over themselves & show off their "bling", to borrow a term, & make others around them feel bad, no this isn't envy or jealousy, it's annoyance to these so called air headed expatriates who act as if they're better than everyone else cough' stupid Manny Pacquia as an example' cough.
