so i did the instructions on this link and put a CLEAN version of mario and Luigi Bowsers Inside Story (U) into my r4 sdhc.

but when i play the game i get a white screen when i choose new game.

BTW, Bowser comes up and says, "nintendo" which is new.. usually its the bros.

Also, do i have to download the japanese version or should the english version of the rom work too?

The above link does indeed work for the R4i 1.3 and below and is minimum effort
I haven't played too far into the game but it does go past the 'Chose a save file' screen.

i followed the instructions for the r4 but when i start the game its just a blank white screen.....and before...my old ysmenu at least was able to open bis until the buttons froze up at the save screen....
crap...

edit: omfg i was using the patched rom..i changed it to the reg 1 and it works now WOOOOOTTT THANKS to all

somebody help i put the ysmenu patched all the files into the root of my r4 III upgrade but when i play the game the save screen still freeezes help anybody

after doing the entire thing over it nows gives me the black screen of death help :-[

Ok, i'm getting understanding this alot more, but still a bit unsure.

What my first question meant was, do I extract the folder or the files in the folder of R4sysAuto.

I have managed to run the r4.Bat I think. I did R4Config.Bat, or do I just do a R4 one? Also you said once it was complete, it would give me a zip file. however, I can't find it. All I have is Configuration Settings. When I clicked the R4 one, It ran through all this coding stuff and one it was finished, it gave me a R4_custom_English, what should I do about that?

the 3rd question was about the firmware, Does YsMenu automatically replaces my current one? because I chose number 1 choice in step 4. (which one is easier? choosing 1 or 4?)

Again thank you for answering my my recent questions.

Ah, okay. For your first question, it doesn't really matter if you extract the folder or file. To make it simple, just place the FOLDER on your desktop (or something) for now. Then place the YsMenu#### zip file into the same folder.

But, from the looks of things, I think you already did it correctly because you managed to run R4.bat and make the R4_custom_English zip file. Extract the contents of the R4_custom_English zip file onto your MicroSD card. It should have a "TTMenu" folder and a single .DAT file if you chose 1 in step 4 (which I recommend). This folder and file should be the ONLY thing on your MicroSD card (besides your games of course).

Lastly, as for your question on R4config.bat, that just sets up the choices in step 4 ahead of time so that when your run R4.bat, it'll make the R4_custom_English zip file automatically. If you run R4.bat without running R4config.bat, it won't make it automatically, but will ask you the same choices/questions. Hope this helped!

If you have the R4i which works with 1.4 from www.R4i-sdhc.com, they have updated their kernel to V1.11b and it is compatible with this game
