I'm on a Mac right now, so don't call me bias, but I'd have to go with PC. Sure, Mac is the "original" thing to do, but if I want something good and something that works with all my games, I don't care about the nice presentation of this pac, I can a good game player.
Hell, I can make a SIMPLE virus in less than 5 minutes. It's not a question of whether or not viruses are made, it's a question of how many and their effects.
Why are people saying PCs are user friendly? Macs are so much simpler to use and look better in general. Everything is just as powerful as a PC but with a much easier to use and more understandable interface. Also you shouldn't comment if you havn't used both for an extended period of time. You have no idea what your talking about
Familiarity is a key consideration in interface design, and a lot more people are familiar with a PC.
A PC can do anything a Mac can do and more. I don't think it works the other way around. Besides, I'd rather have a machine that's powerful and able to do a lot of things opposed to looking pretty...
I just had an extremely long winded argument with my 12 year old friend about why Windows is better than Mac. Notice how he drops any topic that I beat him at. Also note that he owns a Macbook and an iPod touch. It started out through texts......... Me: FYI: The new Macbook Pro is the same as the unibody Macbook, just with a different name. Way to fall for marketing scams. Sheep. (Yes, I use proper English in text messages too... sort of wastes space.) Friend: Also the white macbook can have a 500gb hard drive for just 200 more Me: Tough shit. For $249, I can get 2 terabytes. Way to fall for more marketing scams. Friend: Apple ftw Me: See how blinded you have been? See the light, man. I could get a lappy equal to the $999 Macbook's specs for $499 from Dell. I am referring to this laptop: http://www.dell.com/us/en/home/notebooks/laptop-inspiron-13/pd.aspx?refid=laptop-inspiron-13&s=dhs&cs=19 Please note that I do not endorse nor suggest at all to buy a Dell. They just have affordable laptops. Friend: A bulky disfigured one that runs a faulty operating system and doesnt even touch iLife with its crappy interface Me: Of course a Windows computer can't run iLife, fool. Just like you can't use Winamp on a Mac. The Dell one is also 0.05 kg lighter, and there is no... continued> This is what I mean by not enough room. Me: There is no prooF that Windows is worse. Just a narrow minded statement an Applehead without any more juice would say. "Well... you suck! I win!" Note that a variant of my above quote will be used near the end of the IM conversation by my friend. And oh no! I made a mistake with capitalization. Friend: I knew that. I was referring to the fact that all of its file processing sucks and ilife does a better job than all of vista Me: What do you mean by file processing? That isn't even a legitimate computer science term. Or is it? I don't know. Friend: Okay we can talk over aim later i have to go play cabal Me: Running away when you're losing is always your last resort. This will also happen near the end of the IM conversation. Me: Oh, and I see you have stopped arguing any aspect of the two laptops that I have beat you in the argument at. Friend: No not really its just kinda slow to text and i was planning on playing cabal Me: I can text faster than a lot of people can type on a computer. I have a QWERTY phone. Friend: (As a response to my last last text) Touche so have u Friend: (As a response to my last text) Lol nice i type faster than people text Friend: Comon just lemme play cabal Me: [Friend's name] forfeits! Windows wins once again. Friend: Hell no That's his catch phrase. Really annoying after you hear it all the time. And to top it off, he's a radical Christian. Me: Then continue. You have yet to win a single one of my arguments about Windows. Friend: Im getting on aim And the story continues there. I did not read this over so excuse any mistakes. And profanities. I think he's going to serve me tomorrow.
(5:16:38 PM) Dary1 S: macbook air = 3 pounds (5:16:46 PM) ScienceMit: and costs 3 times as much (5:16:49 PM) ScienceMit: with fucked up specs (5:16:52 PM) ScienceMit: and no dvd drive (5:16:55 PM) Dary1 S: and u cannot get a non-netbook computer that weighs that little. http://vaio.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=VGN-TT21WN%2FB&site=voe_en_GB_cons&pageType=Overview&category=VN+TT+Series http://vaio.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=VGN-TZ31VN%2FX&site=voe_en_GB_cons&pageType=Overview&category=VN+TZ+Series http://vaio.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProductCategory.action?site=voe_en_GB_cons&category=VP+P+Series OWNED.
^^^ hahaha living on the breakable, and mooching off the broken... thats awesome... do you do upgrades?
vista is not completely compatable, microsoft (lol gigahard) has made vista into a resource hog, if you don't have atleast 2 gigs of ram you lose the game...
Well, in the event of a wipe, they have two options. 1. Use the backup OS disc that comes with their computer. 2. Pick the hacked version of Vista called Tiny Vista made by eXPerience, whose OS only uses 256 MB instead of 512 MB required to run it. If you have 1 GB of RAM, going this route is definitely a plus. 3. Even though I only said two, if they somehow lose their OS disc, then going the Tiny Vista route is the only option I have for them. They must have a rig that is Vista compatible, otherwise I won't be able to service them. I haven't found a stable pirated XP OS that I like. I love Tiny Vista because it has a ton of registry fixes that speed up the computer, and it rips out a ton of useless features, while keeping all of the visual and necessary components intact. In fact, I hardly notice a difference in missing features compared to a factory one. Tiny Vista fits on a 700 MB CD instead of a full size DVD. You can also update Vista without fear of being flagged as a pirated OS. This version is unattended meaning when you install it, you can actually leave your computer. It will restart, enter in activation keys, restart again, and eventually bring you to the login screen. It will have to restart a few times to actually activate the key, and apply the registry fixes, but other than that, you'll never have to deal with it. The only thing I really have to worry about is grabbing the Graphics driver, (or at least the installer for it) before I wipe. It has a few features that are a little advanced (a bunch of Administrative features when you right-click My Computer), like auto-login into Administrator, but that can be disabled. I usually lock their Admin account, but obviously giving them their choice of the password. I can do easy upgrades like RAM. That's about it. I can also repartition the drives if you don't like having a useless 10 GB partitioned drive. If I get this myPassport that I've been looking at for awhile now, then the backing up process will be much, much easier. Don't knock Vista entirely just yet, until you've tried Tiny Vista. I've had it on my Vista computer with only 1 GB of RAM and that thing boots up fast, and has about 55-66% RAM free.
