Yeah, no I dont think so, PC has a smaller screen, lower sound quality, and I dont know, playing games using a keyboard and mouse dont feel as good as playing it with a controller. And only if your PC is modified to the fullest can you run a game properly. I've seen powerful coms trying to run games and still lag at times. And just for the record, I hate people bashing other consoles just because they 'hate it' or their being a fanboy. Each consoles have their own specialty so just because you dont like it does not mean it sucks.
my PC has considerably better sound quality than any TV I've ever encountered, and my monitor is much bigger than most TVs in this country. Keyboard and mouse are far more natural for playing FPS/RPG/RTS games than a controller.
your so wrong its unbelievable to start with i have left for dead on the pc and 360 and its better on the pc you don't need an amazing pc, it runs perfectly on mine and i only have a £20 gfx card your wrong with the screen too it looks way bigger sitting 2ft in front of my 19" monitor then it does meters away on any size tv and fps's are always better on keyboard and mouse it my not have rumble but it is so much more responsive and is much faster paced
I find PC's to be too cumbersome... Too large, setup too long, too expensive etc. My PC is a corner in my living room...impossible for me to do any serious gaming And keyboard and mouse may technically be superior but the learning curve associated is too great in my opinion And again the space required to move the mouse around freely may not be available to a majority of people I find screen's are too big in fact considering you're only sitting a foot or two away
then your a slow learner takes about 2 minutes tops to get better then you could ever be on a controller and if you have to move your mouse farther then 2 centimeters then you need a new mouse i can understand all the reasons like they're too expensive and most have their pc's as family computers but pc are an awesome gaming option and if its a viable option it will always be the best and if you still only like controllers the 360 can be used on the pc
Another feature that PC owns any sort of console variation is the addition of custom maps and mods. Valve games are relied on it's modding and map community, that and they'll be about 4 new campaigns on the PC version of L4D when the SDK comes out and the 360 version will never see them. Also look at Team Fortress 2 on the PC and 360. WHOA.
you have a incredabily Large Flat Screen TV? or you havnt seen a 30" Flat Screen Monitor? seriously even 20" monitor is large enough >.> btw like Looney said, FPS is best play on mouse and keyboard, aiming on the mouse is way better analog stick or gun..... IIRC FPS even started on PC and stay on PC for years.
2 minutes? Don't be ridiculous And 2cm? I haven't used any fancy mouses so I'm possibly wrong but that sounds strange to me So I need a new GFX Card, possibly a new sound card, a new Mouse, some games, a bigger desk and some time to learn I'm sure you can understand PC gaming is not a viable option for most people Then there's the social aspect of gaming... (real social...not that online crap) I know you have LAN party's and such, there's a gaming society in my university that holds them, but they're not exactly the sort of people I would spend time with ;D
Some LCD's can be connected to your PC, making the size of the screen the same. Depends on your sound system and sound card. Sound can be much better on PC than on a console. A mouse and a keyboard are much better for an FPS game, but some games are much better if you play them with a controller. But you can always buy one. Not really. Of course, if you try to run games at full settings you really need a beast. Anyway, I'm going to build a PC from scratch: just the computer itself is around 530€ (480£/680$), and it's able to play most (if not all) of these games out right now, no lagging. But if I set the settings to MAX, then many games will be barely playable. DITTO, couldn't agree more. Depends on sensivity. Sometimes I need to hold my PS2's analog stick for a long time until the enemy is in my crosshair. I barely need to move my mouse when I play Fallout3, just a bit to aim and tunr around (and my mouse is not fancy). Let me guess: buying a console (which you can only use for games and movies) and its respective games is cheaper than buying a PC (with which you can do works, see movies and play games, apart from many other things I'm not listing), which has games (both the computer's and other consoles' games) you can get by paying only a small fraction (downloading)? Let me guess: nope, it's not cheaper. If a PC is not a viable option for most people, then why in this world would a console be?
Well yes you should ask yourself if PC is all that great, why are people still owning consoles? Hell if it is as great as you make it to be, sony & nintendo would go bankrupt. That aside, not everyone gets laptop with super huge screens do they? And do you really think playing it on a bigger screen wouldn't give a better experience? Why do you think people go to the cinema to watch a movie rather than watch it on their PC? A bigger screen does give a much better experience. In addition to that you can glue your eyes to the computer screen so that it seems 'big' but thats not very healthy for your eyes. And just because you have not encounter a TV with better sound quality than your com does not mean there isnt one. Lemme think, ah some people have stereo hi-hi sets with ginormous speakers, better sound experience? I would think so. Lets go on with multiplayer, yes PC is great it has multiplayer games but not everyone would like linking computers or playing it over the internet. Say you invite a friend over, would you not rather have your friends sit on your couch and play multiplayer games, bragging talking shit bout each other rather than hmm...they bring their laptop over so you guys can set up a LAN game? Another thing yay PC rules with FPS due to the mouse but what of other games? Adventure games, third person shooters etc dont feel as good on a mouse than it does on a controller. I should know I played RE4 on PC and it feels awkward.
the only reason why people choose console over PC is mainly maintenance cost. PC need hardware upgrade, hard drive maintenance (format and defrag), software maintenance, and normally PC game require patching or tweeking before playing...... while console on the other hand is plug and play, and console doesnt need any hardware upgrade to play the lastest game since the console game is develop base on the console hardware while PC game is develop using the lastest hardware spec. a console will stay the same over 10 years and still will play the lastest game (if any), while a PC that stay over 10 years will not run any lastest game without a proper upgrade. main reason why people favor console over PC.
Only Nintendo would. nintendo is the only company that has anything to lose, both microsoft and Sony have plenty of other business avenues as well as consoles.
Of course it's cheaper You can buy a console and 10 games for the price of a low-end PC (which more than likely won't play the games you want it to) And once I buy a console, I won't have to rip the GPU out next time someone decides to put more realistic trees in a game
5 years is a long time And a few hundred quid every five years is nothing when you consider the convenience a console offers
why is this another argument whether pc or console is better at the end of the day a pc IS better but people like consoles, but it makes not difference its just your personal preference most of the big titles are on all platform, some pay more for it to be slightly better like extra maps and missions (like gta4 on 360) but its the same games none the less and its what is comfortable. the truth is consoles are nice for chilling and button bashing pc's are best for fps as gameplay is more a challenge with faster gameplay and more servers to chose from and your not limited to a small maximum of people in online battles (for example max 8-16 players on 360 and upwards of 35 people on pc) for example COD world at war i have this game on pc, 360 and wii pc is the best for true awesomeness of that game i play hardcore servers only and its stupidly fast paced gameplay on massive servers 360 its not as good its slow and using a analog stick for aiming and turning is just slow and cumbersome but like said before if a mate comes round and wants to play a game we can sit on the sofa and play together wii looks shit compared to anything else but its a laugh shooting with the wii remote the post was about left for dead on ps3 that would be great as more people could experience this amazing game (read my review of the game its only good if you play multiplayer with friends so you need to have it on the same platform as your buddies) but if you have multiple platforms to choose from this game is best bought on pc as it feels better to play it that way
