Edit: I can't wait for v2.0 and I actually prefer "Bulbasaur." I believe this was the way in LeafGreen and even if it's not - it looks neater.

I just wish there weren't only six spaces for naming.

I went to GBAtemp today, checking for a new version of this, and was pretty shocked to see the thread locked. What an idiot moderator. He's abusing his power (I guess to make him feel good about himself).

This forum is better anyway, as I see it. (Allowed uploading of roms!) I've been using Romulation for all my roms since I got my R4, but I may start using the forums too, now. Anyway, thanks again for doing this!

Whoever it is, I'd suggest ALLCAPS names if you want to keep things simple, Firstcaps if you're a neat-freak. Either all, it shouldn't change things overmuch.

Other than that, it's a nice, quality fix; and for that, you have my gratitude.

I imagine it's Rykin122 because in his post he admitted to not being Rykin, though that's pretty confusing / misleading. I'm not even sure what's going on anymore.

 

I played all those parts with de v1.5 patch and it was all in english (even mid-fight dialogues)... i'm using a R4DS with official firmware 1.18

also, i went to the goldenrod Game corner and played in the slot machines with no problems, even though everyone there speaks japanese.

 

Could you fix the text from "TMs nd HMs Pocket" to "TMs and HMs Pocket"? Thanks!

 

Will this patch eventually allow for longer character names, like in the US version? 5 chars is quite low for English-language names.

 

I sure hope he's paying attention to us and does it ALL CAPS lol

Otherwise I'd stick with V1 or 1.5.

 

Well I played 9 hours of this game no freeze
Using R4i SDHC ver1.09b

I got another translation problem
Route 40 on the land part. There is a man, two sign and a building.
All in Japanese. When you go inside the building there speaking Japanese and the guy is not letting me in.
I don't know why he isn't but oh well

 

anyone know if there will be a legit fix for the Us version? or are we going to all be stuck with not quite %100 translations?

But you can use Pokesav to edit your name if it really bugs you that much

V3 should be 100% so just wait like the rest of us (even V1 is amazing). Plus if anyone knew then it would be mentioned on the sticky thread.

Hey will this english patch (im talking bout the final version which is v3) translate all of the multiplayer stuff too?

 

Why are you guys arguing about the uppercase and lowercase thing? Can't you guys just change the name of your Pokemon if you go to the name rater? or when you catch them? It doesn't really matter. It's still the same even if it is in lowercase or uppercase.

 

it does matter with some people, and no, going to the name rater just to change the names is not cool. it takes too long. and all the pokemon you battle will be different. bleh, its just that alll the other pokemon games were all upper cased, so idk, its just the way it used to be
