I personally don't see a point in going back and forth between the two.

Just stick with this one. The japanese one has no freeze ups. Just language issues. If you're REALLY playing for the story maybe you should buy the game. I've personally played each pokemon game and i'm doing it because it's a game i enjoy. I already know the plot to gold and silver. I knew that 10 years ago.

 

i have a problem with soul silver after patching it i was not able to run it in my r4 it says that the game is untitled and i cannot run it

yet after patching a heart gold i can run it with no problem

 

It shows up as ......... for me, so that may be the "untitled" issue you're having. What does it do when you try to run it?

 

nothing happens it just remains on the game selection screen

I've been trying to figure this out for a few hours now..
I am using no$GBA 2.6a and I downloaded the files xpa-phg-patched.nds as well as the firmware file. I put in the NO$GBA cheat that is supposed to stop freezing. Don't think I am missing anything..
Game seems to run fine until I reach the grass and finish my first fight, it freezes on the fight screen. I also can't load snapshots or saves through the NO$GBA program. When I try to load them it says the rom has crashed. Loading and saving in game seems to be fine.
Please help me out, I'd read the forum and can't seem to figure out what is going wrong.

Hm. Have you tried the pre-patched version? Sometimes it works better. Other than that I'm not sure... sorry.

 

I'm fairly sure that the NO$GBA code is NOT anti freezing. It's for the black screen that would appear otherwise. Also, NO$GBA does not yet have Snapshots/Gameshark Save support for NDS ROMs yet. Those features are entirely for GBA emulation. So saving in game is your only option.

As for your freezing problem... I don't think you should have downloaded the prepatched version. He'd posted a patch v1.9 for NO$GBA, which I assume is to address that and other issues. You'd need a clean Japanese ROM which you would then patch with v1.9. However, DON'T RUN OFF AND DO THAT JUST YET, as, like I said, the game will still freeze after 24 events. I tried patching it with the old Rudolph's anti-freeze patch, but I think the two patches are somewhat incompatible. The game works, but it randomly crashes or doesn't save properly. I suggest you sit tight and wait for now. I know, I want to play the game too, but patience will save you the money that a real NDS and a flash cartridge would cost.

Note that a lot of the above is just what I've guessed after reading bits here and there. If anything is wrong, please, PLEASE, correct me. I won't get mad. Promise.

EDIT: I just noticed the thread on Rudolph's USA patch... Interesting. Might be worth looking into. It also makes this entire wall of text worthless. Oh well. At least we might be able to play for real now.

2.0 does not work for no$ all it will do to you is crash 2.0 works perfectly on Desmume v0.9.5 they have a version for both 32,64 bit etc. and yes you can transfer your save over to it when you run the rom hurry and click file and click import backup memory and search for your no$ save file.

FFS JUST USE THE AR CODE FOR ANTI BLACK SCREEN, SEARCH ON YOUTUBE !!
YOU DO NOT NEED A PATCH IF YOU USE AN EMULATOR !!! STOP WASTING TIME BY

umm...i kno that this question might make others mad, but. i was just playing SS on my r4-sdhc, an wen i turned off an on my DS, went back to SS, and it said that my file was corrupted an i had to start all over again. does anyone know how to fix this problem or is it just me?

 

same thing happend to me still i wish i could help u with that, but ive been having the same problem since it came out and im really starting to think its due to my r4i neo

 

I can say that 2.0 does WORK on no$gba ,i already finished the game i just need to catch the legendary pokemon and thats it. All i did was download the pre-patched version then download the firmware.bin and place it in the folder with no$gba. At the beggining i did use Desmune but its way to slow for me.

 

io have an r4-sdhc 2 but it works fine for me i have the newest r4 sdhc firmaware maybe you should upgrade it?

 

Me to, just play V2.0 and enjoy it untill v3.0 is out !

Hey guys. Not sure if I'm the only one experiencing this. However, when im playing with bill's PC (deposit/withdraw mode).. it lags horribly. I'm using no$gba 2.6a. Any way to fix this?
