I'm trying to use the patch on my rom but it won't work. I've got windows xp right now. Once patched though the rom works great, I've got R4 SDHC. Also, the file on mediafire is set to private, so only you can access it apparently. Just thought I'd let you now before you get flooded with complaints.
Ignore that last bit, I don't know what the problem was, but it's ok now. Thank you very much.

What happens when you run the xDelta GUI.exe program? A lot of people seem to be having problems with patching the rom themselves. I'll try to come up with a step-by-step tutorial if I can figure out what's going wrong for people.

The program seems to be working fine, but I get no output file, and as far as I can tell the original file hasn't changed in the least. Some people mentioned that it saves the patched rom into a different folder sometimes, but as I've said before, I've done a full computer scan for it, and found nothing. I'm not sure what the problem is.

That's okay, "spelt" is supposed to be spelled "spelled". ;)

It can be spelt/spelled either way!.... -.-

Which version of the patch did you use? Where do you have the patch and patching programs unzipped to? I'll see if I can recreate the problem.

Hm. Just messing with you. I looked it up though and found out that spelt is a word. It's a type of wheat.

I used patch version 2.0 full, xenophobia's release of Pokemon Heart Gold (J). I have a folder on my desktop for everythin on my nds simply named "DS", and in that folder I extracted the patch to "new patch". I tried both versions, Caps and noCaps, but neither worked. Someone mentioned renaming them, but that did nothing.

    Okay, I'll see what happens.

CAPS prepatched is up at CAPS MediaFire.
Non-CAPS prepatched is up at Non-CAPS MediaFire.

Hm. Well man, I don't know what to say. I tried the 2.0 patch on both the Heart Gold (J) and Soul Silver (J) roms and it created the file in the "DS" directory I created on my desktop. I'm using Win7 but I doubt that would make it work for me and not for someone using XP... do you have the latest .net (3.5) installed?

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why, when I click on "Show Posts" on my profile it shows the 38 posts I have, but if I click on "Show Stats" it says I have 0 posts? Not really a big deal, but I'd like to have my stats show up correctly. :)

I'm not really familiar with AR codes, but when I check it its still in Japanese on my No$GBA 2.6A. Am I doing anything wrong?

Huh? What is still in Japanese?

Well on my No$GBA I went on utility and clicked cheats. I clicked add new and copy and pasted the cheat. I checked the box, then I tried talking to my pokemon and some people, and it was still in Japanese except for the names which I already had on the ROM. I probably did something wrong I guess. If I need to explain further I will try to.

Okay, first download the following patch (it includes both CAPS and Non-caps versions):
    http://www.mediafire.com/?yijom1z324j
CAPS puts the Pokemon names in all CAPS (CHIKORITA) Non-caps puts just the first letter in CAPS (Chikorita)
    Then patch the game.

If it doesn't work (and it probably won't from what I've dealt with) you'll need to download the pre-patched version from here:
CAPS prepatched is up at http://www.mediafire.com/?mymijtmytqo.
Non-CAPS prepatched is up at http://www.mediafire.com/?omvzmznznyd.

You will also need this to stop the AP:

Can someone help me, I tried to find a game ID using r4cce for action replay codes on HG, and my ID is : IPKJEBB58C2C.

This cant be right, the cheat selection just wont appear when I switch the DS on and highlight pokemon heartgold on the R4 menu.

Had that problem myself Ray832, someone at some point on here said to rename the file .patch so that the full name looked like this:

    .patch.patch

I did that and it created a working version for me ^_^

To all you cheaters....boooooo, play the game normally!!

EBB58C2C is the game id you need to use. The first four characters are put in the first box of the "Game ID" section and then the last 8 characters go in the second box. Make sure you save the database as well or it won't work.

    Ah, okay, thanks. :)
