Things haven't really changed since the GFC. All the bailouts and stimulus spending may have saved us from the worst of a depression, but we continue to make unsustainable investments that inflate prices beyond their real market value. The dotcom bubble, the housing bubble, what comes next? I can't predict that.

Socially, things aren't looking bright. Censorship ahoy; more and more governments think they can and should regulate public access to information and media. Even the new Wii U won't play standard optical media, piracy laws are being unreasonably tightened and DRM remains prevalent. If that's not a denial of the basic tenets of western society, I don't know what is.

Thoughtcrime is actually becoming an issue, too. Recently some guy was charged with child porn after bringing hentai manga into Canada. Setting aside the fact that they actually searched his laptop for it (and on what grounds?), it's unbelievable that he would be charged for something that does not violate or endorse the violation of another's rights. Was it because he "could become" a pedophile? This isn't Minority Report, Canada. Get your game together.

In other news, science denial remains strong. Antivax movements, climate change deniers, Bible Belters refusing to allow the teaching of evolution in schools...it's ridiculous.

Also, I hear Casey Anthony got off the hook. If this is true, I sincerely hope there is a very damn good reason for it.

Oh, and Transformers 3 sucks and I wasted a buck on 3D. Screw you, Hollywood.

Ohoho, I know your game. Trying to get me to reveal my strategies? Unfortunately, it won't work. While I am capable of analysing a situation and forming strategies, I usually find it too much effort. I've lived my whole life coasting off my natural talent and genius, see. I usually play by instinct.

That said, I may as well point out that I typically open the C/D/E ranks to ensure king manoeuvrability. I like a solid pawn formation complemented by bishop play. Knights are also useful, but bringing rooks to the fore takes too long for my liking.

My childhood was alright. My primary (or "elementary") school was filled with bogans, so I seemed a lot smarter by comparison. My dad died when I was eight, when I was still too young to realise just how it would affect me. Even now I still don't know that, and I doubt I ever will. For the most part though, I guess I was happy enough in my ignorance.

My high school was cool. By that point I was already pretty lazy, so I didn't do as well as I should've, but my teachers were pretty good and I learnt a lot. Made some bro friends that I still chillax with on occasion. Of course, being a teenager, I went through the usual angsty phase of wondering about my place in the universe, but for the most part I managed to sort out the philosophies and beliefs that make me who I am today.

When I was younger I could play the piano, to an extent. I occasionally do some live sound-mixing every now and then, though.

Seph is probably considering adding anime because a large portion of RomU's existing userbase are weeaboos. I imagine it wouldn't be difficult to implement considering the coding and infrastructure already in place, too. Dunno if he has any other reasons for it. You probably should've asked during his KYM.

You're a cool guy with a lot of potential for future awesomeness, but don't get a big head over it. Humility is a virtue. And don't try to grow up too fast - enjoy your youth while it lasts. I get the impression that you don't really like your classmates or consider them on the same level as you (which may or may not be true), but it's not wise to shut people out and reject social connections like that. A while back I think I recommended you read Onani Master Kurosawa. Do so if you haven't already, it does a good job or depicting what I'm trying to say here.

Never really got into Castlevania. It's another thing on my to-do list.
I think I mentioned earlier that I don't have a PS3, so I can't comment on that game.

A few months ago I caved into nostalgia and downloaded Pokemon White. I reached the electric cave and started getting encounters every three steps, which annoyed me to the point of stopping. I haven't played my DS since.
