I'm confused.
Okay, this is what I did.

ttextract.exe was in TTMENU
So I ran ttextract.exe
Now ttdldi.dat, ttpatch.dat and YSMenu.ini are in TTMENU folder.
I tried to rename YSMENU.nds to TTMENU.DAT and it said if I change the name, I might not be able to use it? (My comp is in Korean. Sorry for my bad translation!)
And then it said there already is a TTMENU.
I didn't want to overwrite anything, so I left it as TTMENU (2).dat (originally YSMENU.nds)

And I don't understand what you mean by OFFICIAL TTMENU.DAT. or TF.
I feel so dumb! lol

I haven't used it.
Okay I will try to see how it happens and I will try to make clearer instructions

Ok first backup your MicroSD card incase anything goes wrong.

Just do this
Delete TTMENU.DAT
Rename 1.18.DAT into TTMENU.DAT
Put TTMENU, TTMENU.SYS and the new TTMENU.DAt into your MicroSD card.

 

I don't know what MicroSD card is. Where can I find it?

 

Your MicroSD card! The one you put in you DSTT, the one where you put game files in.

Renamed 1.18 to TTMENU.dat
Put TTMENU, TTMENU.SYS and the new TTMENU.DAT

Hmm the unpatched rom loads, but the manually patched one still gives the error message. So far it works fine! The graphic makes me think of FFVII.

Well if the unpatched rom works then the manual patched rom is useless.

I'm just glad it worked out and I also found something out as well.
Also this firmware will play most games unpatched.
Even the new ones like Strange Journey and Wario Ware D.I.Y.

 

Thanks again for spending your time to help me out, especially so late into the night. Unfortunately Wario Ware and Strange Journey aren't working, but I still have the earlier SMT to beat, and I'm just soooooooooooo glad kh is working!

Maybe if you use the TTMENU.DAT (the one you deleted and replaced with 1.18DAT) maybe Strange Jounrey and Wario Ware will work.

But play Kingdom Hearts for the time being.
