Ok, i downloaded the pre patched ROM on my 1.26 R4 SDHC.
It IS working fine, will i encounter enay problems/freezes?

Just do it the way he says with he hex editor it works fine on my R4DS revolution,
thanks for that tirith, i would never have found the right address to change without u, plus is their a certain way to find addresses like that?

i tried all the methods listed and it still freezes the closest thing that came to woring was the unpacking but it restarted freezing at day 14

actually, my game freezes...

*spoiler alert*
when i beat xion. she reaches to touch roxas' face and BAM it freezes. second time in a row this happened...
why? why? why?

I have thought of this at first but it still freezes. I don't know what the problem is but I'm still trying to figure out how to fix it. Did you skip the cutscene exactly when it started or did you wait a bit then skip? Cause I did it by waiting a little then skipping not when it just started.

Followed the instructions to manual patching from page 1, and it works like a charm on my r4, played a couple levels, no problem so far, thanks a lot!

I Have the R4i Gold V1.30. I tried every other method suggested to get past the damn bed scene and this with the manual patched NDS file works like a charm. Thank you very much cocolicous, you are awesome. Will post back if I can't get past day 14.

EDIT: Can't get past Day 14. Specifically right after you tell Saix your ready and then the next scene with Roxas and Axel. Damn The R4i Gold! Just bought an Acekard. I hope its as good as everyone says it is. But i would still like to get this working on the R4...

Well the Hex edit works on v1.23 on R4DS, Everything works inside the game, synthesis, flying, you know, the usual..

Even the wireless works absolutely fine.

The whole thing in general shouldn't be a problem to anyone, maybe you should just read through the posts and view them to see if anyone else has had the same problem. If you get a black screen, follow the Anandjones advice and re-format (After copying all your game data's out of it) and then re-place the system information for the chip. After that it should work absolutely fine.

Nds classic is a win.

if i use LIPS will it work? i did this for the J ver and i finished that game edi... now the U has the same black screen problem..!!! ahh!! goddammit!

Working on the m3 sakura with latest firmware =)

Patching it will cause the white screen of nothingness, though.

Before, freeze after difficulty.
Adter, it works fine. on R4
I used the patcher from the first or second post.

I got AKAIO 1.5 update for my Acekard 2i. I put the original ROM on there with the latest 2/2i loader and cheat .dat. fortunately, it automatically patches the game. So now, Mario and Luigi RPG 3 and KH 358/2 Days work well for me so far. Just be sure to go to your system options and switch the saved game format to nds.sav if you used an alternate firmware (like AK2/2i).

Mine seems to be running well. I downloaded the prepatched version of the game for my R4DS, but on mission 38 on day 122, the whole system freezes and the screen goes black, but the background music still goes on. Ive tried to redo the missions again, but every single time the same thing happens. Could it be my save file or the ROM itself?

So far i got the pre-patched rom and played it with out any hex edit on the origional R4 v1.18 kernel i am on day 171 with no problems

This game is so random it works on some people r4 but not others it has to be something do with the r4 cartrige or memory card the rom wouldnt work differently for certain people

3. Copy all the files from AKAIO 1.4.1 Proper and R4 Ultra Kernel 1.54 folder you just download into your micro sd (yes, you mix those two firmwares on your sd)
4. Copy the Kingdom Hearts game into your sd (the patched one with manual hex editor, not the clean one)
5. Insert your micro sd into your ds then turn on your ds
6. the R4 menu will show up but instead choosing your rom, you choose "AKMENU4.NDS"
7. Now the AKAIO menu will appear, then choose your KH game from there.
8. Play the game

Using this method I can play the game perfectly.

What's the good news ? With this method I can also play Mario and Luigi Bowsers Inside.
So I can play both K.H 358/2 and M&L B.I on my r4ultra using this firmware that I upload in mediafire.

Thank you, this method works on R4-New.com cards as well (and I assume all other AK2 clone cards).
