I have an N5. I was trying to follow the hex editor step by step, but I can't seem to find the address button, to follow the steps from there. I can't open the extracted version, so I am doing it on a Winrar archive. What am I doing wrong?

Extract, open up your hex editor, file>open extracted rom
Goto (or search), put in the address, then change the value.

File> Save.

I tried that and didn't work, can anyone else help me with this problem?

My game is working perfectly fine but sometimes it deletes the save file I have and I have to start all over again, my save file is 256 K I believe, is there anyway I could fix this problem? (I have a supercard btw)

So I'm using Acekard 2i, updated to work on 1.14, my game will get into the storyline but as soon as it it seems like the game is about to start, after the cutscenes, it freezes, any help?

Read the first post. You need to update to AKAIO 1.5 firmware

same thing... one thing i would add, im running on DSi with 1.4 update (i have updated the firmware).
For the rest its the same thing as he said, No versions of AKAIO work

I have an R4 v1.18 and I DLed the pre-patched version from megaupload(the link in first post). I played as far as getting an option to save(5 min fmv, 5 min play time) and no issue so far.

I have r4 v.1.18 and im downloading this game on USA version, i get the black screen after picking difficulty mode, just wondering if the hex editing works with r4 v.1.18.

Also, i downloaded the japanese version and did the patch like what you did, it worked fine but i don't understand japanese =P so is there an english patch to the japanese one?

P.S. im new to this site.

The pre patched link provided in the first post of this thread should work for you. I have the same R4 and version as you

the prepatched rom in the first page works fine on r4i sdhc firmware 1.09, thanks btw, hope soon appear a mario and luigi prepatched rom that works for that

k iam using acekard 2i with the akaio 1.5 firmware game runs fine up until day 72 after i complete the mission in the desert were u find Aladdin and roxas falls asleep for a couple of days my game keeps freezing after that cut scene have tried 3 times, finished the mission and still freezes anybody having the same problem. also my game freezes every time on the game menu i choose return to title menu always freezes as well. ??? ??? ???

^Backup and reformat your MicroSD and then put the files back on. Same for you juareza.

Confirmation: R4 with YSMENU 2 with PRE-PATCHED rom...

Can someone please make/create a vid (then post it on youtube) on how to patch this step to step? I am getting a lot of text to read and a lot of people say it doesn't work and other people say it does work. It might not work for some people becuase they still don't understand how to patch correctly, even with step by step instructions. I've been trying a lot of combinations that people told me to do on how to solve this situation for the Mario & Luigi game but still are unable to play it....help?

Oh thank you.... but do you or anyone know how to put the firmware into the Acekard2i? The last time I did it with Mario & Luigi Bowser story, I get a black screen when the game starts up. This also happened to every single one of my games.

For those of you with R4 Ultra/SDHC flashcarts, using the method to get Mario and Luigi 3 to run on it (using the latest firmware and the Acekard loader) and hex patching the ROM seems to work. No black screens for me, just starting the tutorials now.
