ok i can confirm that string code change with ultraedit works on m3 ds real (using sakura)

however i recall people saying there is a second AP spot in the game. so hopefully that will be resolved soon.

 

The one you had to use a hex editer for to replace 0C to whatever.
I didn't use that guys patcher, although I recommend it if you don't wana wait.

i would but i don't understand how to patch or whatever he put up a picture sayign what has to be in a folder and thats what i did but i don't know what to do after that.

if you're using ultraedit

get you downloaded KH.nds file and open that up in ultraedit

e.g. file-->open-->where ever KH.nds is

then ctrl+f and type in the string "01 E2 0C 51 00 0D"

edit 0C to 37, i.e. [01 E2 0C 51 00 0D] --> [01 E2 37 51 00 0D]

then go file-->save

you should now have 2 files where you had your KH.nds

one should be KH.nds and another KH.nds.bak

the one that has been edited is KH.nds

the bak i think means backup.

it's not hard. kind of just like using any word processor. (i don't know how to use ultraedit, i just used a bit of common sense)

The edited rom on megaupload doesn't work on R4 (at least not on mine). It freezes on a black screen after you start a new game. I think it won't load the cutscenes because it also froze on a black screen when I let the title screen sit to long. :\

I have the latest version of R4 on it's website (1.18 kernal). Since this is the first game on the DS I've wanted for a LOOOOOONG time, I've realized that my R4 is outdated and there are R4-II and R4-III. No wonder it doesn't work on my R4. :\

If I can't get it to work, I may as well either wait a few days or buy the English version when it comes out...

Thanks to UltraEdit and some very smart people, it works GREAT on the R4! Thanks to my boyfriend who is translating the story line for me so that I actually know whats going on!! Thank you guys sooo much!

 

Hey I seemed to patch the game, and the mission mode works fine, but the only problem is when i start a new story mode, the game freezes when i get past the cutscene where roxas is getting out of bed, ne1 else having this problem, im running the rom on Acekard 2i if ne1 knows how to solve this besides the patch which i did, answers would be greatly appreciated, and thank you for reading this

ps. nvm i just read that the patch works on R4, is there anyone that can get a patcher working for AK2 that would be greatly appreciated as well or help me on what i can do to make it go past the freeze on new game thanks

im also using AK2i new firmware 4.17 if that helps anyone

it will work! I too have an R4 (kernel 1.18) and I'm on my 23rd day right now

 

Is anyone else having save issues? I can save just fine on DESMUME, and I have the edited, ROM working on my acekard2i with AKAIO 1.4.1, and every time I try to save it corrupts all my data. Anyone else having this issue?

 

Nope patched and working fine on M3 Real using latest Sakura Build from GBATemp. Saved shut down reloaded and loaded game fine
