Heyy ... how did you get it working on an R4i ?

 

Alright i found how to make it work,for everybody that have the r4 ultra follow this.
first get your normal R4 ultra firmware in it,i had the newest one from r4ultra.com site,then download this

extract it in the sd card,so when u open your ds instead of loading kh358 load the akmenu4 thingy then search for kh 358 and u will be able to play,i finally passed the bed part lol

 

Oh, so u needed an older version of AKAIO, gotcha. Good work keanos. That will go on the list.

I used the IPS patch on the clean ROM to patch it, and I can confirm it's working on M3DS Real on version 4.3e and 4.3f.

Hey sorry ... im having trouble ... it just ... not working

i put the Akaio files i extracted to the root of my SD with my Original R4 Ultra v1.54 firmware.

i boot up my DSi and the R4DS Ultra and Select AKMENU4.NDS

i got and select the patched rom and it says "loading" in blue ... then turns to "loading" in red ... then freezes

what patch did you use ?

 

it would be better if u get a fresh rom & patch it urself if u didnt. I know 100% that is a rom problem, not the firmware. Its supposed to do exactly as u described it. Get a new rom, & IPS patch it. If that dont work, try AKAIO firmware 1.41 instead.

 

using the patch in the first post and lips? ... did that...

everytime i launch a kh game now it makes a weird .nds.sav file that has eg.

kh.nds.sav for some reason

.. formating SD .. downloading new R4 ultra firmware ... downloading new rom ... ....... basically starting at square one

ok, let me explain a bit...

1. The .nds.sav file is what kind of save Acekard firmwares make. Thats natural.

2. U CANNOT rename the rom without a special tool for renaming, if thats what ur doing to the rom. It corrupts the rom from being playable. If u did rename it without a tool, rename it again to its past name, or get a tool to fix it (eg. R4 Rom Trimmer 2.0, it will trim ur rom, & u can rename it safely as well).

3. Have u used LiPS before? Just trying to see if ur applying the *IPS* patch correctly. Also, u cannot patch a game twice, thats why it says to get a clean rom to patch. Patching twice gives a chance for corruption.

 

okay so no panic about nds.sav

havnt renamed the rom ...

ive just:
-downloaded rom from romulation
-downloaded ips patch from 1st link
-extracted the patch and the game (kept file names the same)
-downloaded LiPS
-clicked on the ips patch and selected the rom
-screen thing pops up saying ive successfully patched it ...
-put it in my games folder on the root of my 8gb sd
-turn on dsi and seleted r4ds ultra
-selected the akaio thing
-selected the patched rom ... loading in blue - to red - to freeze :'(

k... i have no idea what im doing lol.. ive downloaded it and its blank with the rar file type but i cant unzip it r anything its says stuff like no exe, try downlaoading again (which i dont want to do: S... help..?

 

8gig huh.... There is a small chance, that it isnt reading fast enough for that game to work. That game is 256mb, the LARGEST game for NDS yet. On my 4gb Kingston, saving goes slow on most of my games, because of the sd. There is a chance its ur sdhc card... try another game u have on ur card, using AKAIO firmware, see if & how it runs.

Ur welcome Anandjones, I was hoping u would see it, so u could update the 1st page for noobs to this thread. Also, by previous people's tests, the newest firmware for EDGE cards fixes the game without the patch, like CycloDS does.

What r u talking about poobumhole? The rom, or a firmware alternative?

 

It's the largest ROM size in Mbit yet yes, it's of course not the first in this size. gokuguy: Please read the Forum Rules regarding your use of shorthand such as 'r' and 'u'
