It's a pretty tough choice viewing what you want nowadays. I have been Liberal for a while now, though, even then, each party has certain stances that baffle, but for the most part, I am Lib Dem all the way.

To determine something like video gaming a luxury, you have to consider all outlooks on life. I think it can be considered a luxury to some, while to others... not so much.
I grew up with video games being a constant. Before I could remember, there was an archaic atari system in my house. Then when I got a small bit old enough to handle playing games, I was given a Nintendo. All of my immediate family and closest friends had some form of video gaming system or another. Because video games have continued to be around I don't really find them so much a luxury as I do a part of how I've been encultured.

Video Gaming is a Luxury as well as i think its an art. Video Games, like any other form of literature, media, or painting is by its nature a luxury. you don't need them. they do not govern your success in life nor do they increase longevity of the species. they do however provide longevity of a culture. while it can be argued that books govern success in life through education you could also get education through lectures.

Art does not just provide a longevity of culture, but also serves (in some cases) as instructions for groups of people to follow in order to keep their substance strategies living as well as providing springboards for more efficient ways to be discovered. Keeping things written down or represented by art is absolutely what can help keep a species alive longer... if applied correctly.

lol... video games =/= art. art is accessable to everyone, video games... not so much and are therefore a luxury.

i still doesn't think video games is luxury..because i can download romS from ROMu and at the night market you can buy one CD for RM5..like..1 or 2 dollars in America...

It depends. It depends on your parents pushing you or not (by that I meant pushing you in education, sports, etc), if you have a loooooot of money or not, and if the game system(s)/game(s) you want are worth it.

That's piracy, if you bought legit copies then it would be a luxury, because of the price to maintain the console and games...not to mention online gaming.

you're right about that..although piracy CD is cheap but has a problem like...blurred pictures, jam, sound problem.. but it is still people's choice(i mean people who can't afford the original CD)..for the people who can't afford, they will think the video gaming is not luxury..(like me..) but it is still fun...

Paintings hung in the Louvre that are more obscure and not available when you do a google image search aren't quite available to everyone, now are they? What about video games aren't art? Is is the graphic ART that goes into it? The creative manor in which code is employed to represent someone's vision like how paint is put on canvas to o the very same thing? OH WAIT... that sounds like it's quite a bit an art form. If you keep in mind handheld video games can be purchased in even $.99 stores... it would appear as though videogames are just as available as all other forms of art.

i love how people mistake the word luxury for rich. while they're similar, since most rich people buy things they dont really need, they're not the same.

Videogames are a luxury, and yes, they are also a form of art.
Movies can be considered art, music, pictures, paintings.
Videogames are just another form of art.
But they are definitely a luxury.
They might be a part of culture in some countries, but that still doesn't mean they are not luxury.
