It seriously breaks my heart. First megaman universe.. and then megaman legends, even though I dont care too much for the series its still a shame. I wont be buying any capcom titles for a while.
How could I not know this? This is a shame. :'( @Jonez I doubt it, unless he took the rights to the Megaman title with him.
When a person working for a company creates an IP, it stays with the company. So to answer you theory, no, he didnt take it with him.
The rights aren't really needed because they can ask Capcom to work together for Megaman and Megaman only.
As a Fan i am sad to see this happen but looking back Megaman has had a long run with a very decent lineup of good games in multiple genres and it is most likely in the best interest to retire the series and let the People decide,if we really wanted a good megaman game then there will be plenty of Fan-games for it(which there are) unfortunately Capcom is known for stretching things out to the point of completely losing the original focus to the series
Don't know if anyone mentioned this, but a few weeks back, Capcom released a remake for megaman X on iOS (and maybe android too, I'm not sure). So making new games might not happen, but I think it is safe to assume that remakes will still be going on
I think I just said that it's the same game with 3D graphics plus extra stuff. Like Vile mode. I prefer anime sprites rather than pixelated graphics. Not everything looks good on pixels. Especially the MMX10 game. Megaman X 10 wut? I thought it went only to 8.
Well thanks to amazing Vector technology you can have the best of both worlds, for instance like with some PSP games use vector graphics as opposed to raster,Patapons and locoroco are good examples that would look great no matter what resolution you play,if they had to make a Vector version of MMX10 then you would be able to keep that classic SNES style without the resolution loss with the added bonus of being extremely port friendly
Blah. I said x10 thinking thinking there was a x9 released so hats off to ya. Now back on topic. At this point, Id settle for a new version of megaman power up T__T
This is a bit off topic but is sort of similar in a way, but I really wished Square-Enix also stopped making Final Fantasy games when Hironobu Sakaguchi & Nobuo Uematsu left the company. Just like with Rock Man is Inafune's brain Child, The Final Fantasy franchise IS Sakaguchi's brain child.
