My friend tried this; it worked again for a brief period afterwards before ceasing to function again. I wouldn't advise it.

I wouldn't recommend that at all...I would just let it overheat for a few minutes. It should work fine then.

    Yay.
RROD hit me again when I just bought Guitar Hero World Tour for my sister.
    Any tips?
She really hasn't played the 360 for a long time.

Let it overheat with the fan stopped up or unplugged until you get two lights. Shut it off and see if it starts up.

    So then...

If overheating causes it. How is making it overheat going to fix it?
    I'm rather confused.

I don't know. It just does.

When the board initially overheats, it causes the board to warp and then, you get that dumbass RROD. When you reheat it, it somehow rewarps the board or something. I'm not sure entirely. My expertise are with the Wii may I remind you. :) Plus, I only know how to flash the things.

Hmm so 'ace1o1' , I tried doing that I really don't know why it doesn't work.
    What did you do?
Tell me exactly the steps you did.
If you do, we could play together some time.

    1. I don't have a controller.
    2. I don't like playing online.

I took my 360 apart and just unplugged the fan, let it overheat to two Red Lights and then turned it off. I turned it on and it worked.

    I don't own one.

Or you could use a towel.

I said you could use a towel.

Man you're like my friend. He tried two times, second time it didn't work and then he complains that it never works again.

    Yeah it doesn't I guess.
I'm just shit out of luck.

Now this is what I'm doing, I but the 360 upright, and I put 4 Q-Tip's into the fans at the back of the console.
    I turn it on.
    Its still flashing 3 rings.
I'm gonna unplug the Power cord as soon as I see 2 rings.
    Wish me luck.

    Good luck :)

I once fixed my friends 360 by opening it and doing things inside...he never had any RROD's after that (he already has it for 2 years, got the RROD in the first month, no warranty (weird?)).
Ask god how I did that....
