Is it possible to reach or surpass the speed of light?

    In fact, the spinning of the Earth would make us fly off if not for gravity!

    If it wasn't for gravity we'd fly off the earth anyhow. Spinning or not.

    Not necessarily, if the earth was exactly as it was now, but didn't rotate or have gravity, we'd swim throught the air.

    Like how on the moon? No the moon has gravity. High tide dude. Anyway, who am I to say? none of us will ever know. Huh.

    the moon has 1/6th (or 1/8th, not sure) of the gravity the earth has.

    Yeah, so erase that and what happens we just kinda drift in the direction that the last force push us in.
