Your prevous username was fine. Also if a username was changed would you have to use the original one to login.

Also, if you were to change your user name, you would have to use your old user name to login right? Then what if you were to change BACK to your old username. What would your username to log in be?

 

Okay, one more question: What's the maximum number of times for name changing? And if you comment on a ROM on the main page, what name would show?

 

I can't answer the first question, but your displayed name changes even on the main site (since they're linked). I can safely assume that the name that shows up for comments is your displayed name and not just your log in name.

You can find out if the name you want is taken

My Messages -> New Message -> Insert the name you want at the space marked "To:"

A list of names may or may not pop out

If the name you want isn't there that means its not taken

Yep, just got my name changed yesterday to something with less numbers.

This is probably a good step to take before posting a request actually.

Patience, they can be quite busy you know.
Especially with this whole DS Roms problem.

 

You just have to wait for them to come on. I got lucky. About 10 minutes after my request, my name was changed.
