I mean exhibitionists as in, the doctor was one. Watching porn is a lot different than making and putting it so all the world can see.

I don't know enough about the story to comment on it. For all I know the woman could of wanted it to be put online or something, I don't know.

Try Googling "Dr. Hayden Kho * Katrina Halili", look for news arcchives about the whole scandal. That little "show & tell" did brought up a lot of noise a few months back.

Religion is for those who want to believe there is something more for them than life. The sad reality is that there is no proof of an afterlife, and the only proof of a god is the present.

Erm... aren't you being a little off topic there mate?

Anyway, if we are to exclude religion into this discussion then one simple answer can be the result:

If your country's laws deems something illegal or sinful then it shall be so.

Not really because sins are like when you do something against what your religion says or what's frowned upon in your religion. It's laws that are the reality, and morals are your own things to go by.

Smoking is a sin, but there is no religion saying it is. As well as Drinking, heck some religions even cite instances of drinking in their books.

OK fast forward to the present, piracy is a sin, but do you see any religion saying so?

How about doing drugs? Know any religion saying doing drugs is bad?

    LOL!

So true, that's why religion shouldn't be institutionalized like that but instead should be something personal. Something you as an individual believe in, but not forced into believing in :)

Don't you dare try and fuck everyone up by implying that something being bad for you immediately makes it sinful. It doesn't. A sin, by definition:

    –noun
    1. transgression of divine law: the sin of Adam.
    2. any act regarded as such a transgression, esp. a willful or deliberate violation of some religious or moral principle.

If we used your terrible logic, having extramarital sex is not a sin, as it's not bad for us and in fact helps propagate the human race. Yet most religions explicitly state that sexual intercourse out of wedlock is heavily sinful. See, a sin is totally dependent upon the religious, moral and ethical values of the person concerned and anyone judging it. Me? I don't think it's a sin, because sex is great. I love sex. Same with piracy and smoking weed.

OK other examples of modern day sinful things I can think off:

    1. Making & propagating computer viruses

    2. Dealing/manufacturing drugs

    3. Credit card fraud

    4. Hacking/cracking computer systems

Things that are not necessarily bad for you by the way.

    they're immoral, thus are sins.

Not nessesarily (sp?). It depends on your morals. I mean dealing and manufacturing drugs is a business. pharmacists do it. But if you are talking about marijuana or crack, then it depends on who is viewingi t. And at that time, it's immoral in their eyes, and a sin IF THEY ARE RELIGIOUS. Sins relate to religion, not everything.

I would say a sin is more of a personal conscious sort of thing.

Suiseiseki gave the litral definition. I will repost it.

    –noun
    1. transgression of divine law: the sin of Adam.
    2. any act regarded as such a transgression, esp. a willful or deliberate violation of some religious or moral principle.

Okay, so it does say it could be a violation of a moral principle, but that means it's subjective. One person could find it a sin, someone with different views could say it's not. But it is mainly used for religious purposes, note the words; divine, adam, religious.
