If I put my laptop on my lap for an extended period of time, will I get sterile?

I just use an A4 refill pad, a tray or a textbook as a barrier between myself and my laptop.

I felt uncomfortable with my laptop on my bloody lap, co i got this table thing.

Most days though the laptop sits on that ontop of my bed.

Um...That's the worst place you could possibly leave your laptop. When you leave a laptop on top of a soft surface like a mattress or duvet, it sinks in slightly and blocks the fan output. This can lead to some serious, permanent damage to your hardware.

In the case of the duvet, it will still get at least partially blocked.

    How fat is your laptop?
All mine have had a fan underneath, surely an inch isnt enough space to draw in cool air?

So I guessed the part where I've mentioned the table thing?

But I know what your saying, I belive that the damage has been done...the fan used to groan alot...especially on hot summer days in this confinded room with no air flow.
