While utopianism does have some admirable characteristics and beliefs, it is also highly flawed.

    The Model Utopian

"Anyone born healthy can attain above-average intelligence." This implies that those born "unhealthy", whatever that means, cannot be intelligent - otherwise, "health" is a redundant distinction. And what about those who became "unhealthy"? Let no one tell you that Stephen Hawking, for example, is not an intelligent man. Hell, anyone who's read Loonylion's life story can testify that health is unrelated to intelligence.

"To tell you the model utopian is a better person, would not be inaccurate. To say they're a better human, would be obvious." This idea disgusts me. Who is Mr Victus to decide what makes one better than another? Intelligence or "productivity" are but two separate measures from an infinite selection. To make such objective claims is as arrogant as proclaiming oneself as God.

"When the time comes to voice your thoughts, you'll know how to present your idea accurately, concisely, and hopefully well-mannered." This is just stupid. Presentation of ideas and the ideas themselves are as separate as personality and beliefs. Being utopian will not magically give you this ability.

    Instinct

"It provides pre-defined protocols that allow the subject to have an intrinsic understanding of the world around it." Understanding? lolno. Instinct exists to ensure survival. This is misrepresentation.

"He relies on this herb as anchor to keep him mentally stable." So mental stability is detrimental to health?

"Thankfully, there is one organ in our wonderful bodies that can defeat addiction each time it arises: the brain, in partnership with the sentience that makes us human." It seems that Mr Victus does not understand the concept of physical dependency. "If you believe you would have serious struggle breaking a pattern or addiction, why don't you try it?" Right back at you, Mr Victus.

    Logic vs Morality

This section is, by far, the worst. Mr Victus says we should embrace that which makes us sentient before turning around and saying we should inhibit our emotions. Perhaps if Mr Victus were logical enough he'd notice this contradiction, but then again if he were logical enough such a contradiction wouldn't exist in the first place. Either way, he's a hypocrite.

The paragraph on stem cells is even more telling. Embryonic stem cell collection requires the destruction of the foetus. Is it "logical" to sacrifice a fresh, healthy life with infinite potential in order to heal some old fogey already set in his ways? Is it "logical" to create new life for the sole purpose of destroying it when utopian principles stipulate that one should live to be a positive, productive influence on society?

"You know what's worse than feeling bad? Feeling nothing." If Mr Victus realises how terrible it is to feel nothing, perhaps he shouldn't advocate living like an unemotional fictional race. And if Mr Victus takes issue with the difference between physical feeling and emotion, perhaps he shouldn't have made such a comparison in the first place.

    The Best Around

"The operative in the equation for model utopianism is the effort you put forth. Putting effort into learning will boost your intelligence." Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Sorry, this is just tpfftahhaahahahahahahaha. Man, what a sucker.

"While a utopian may, justifiably, feel superior to someone who does not try to better themselves, educate themselves, or is genuinely a bane on society, when it comes in regards to utopians as a whole: we are all equal. " Use of the word "justifiably" implies he doesn't even mean what he's saying. "You're better, but you're equal". Moron.

Even if a utopian is told not to consider himself superior to another utopian or a regular person, conscious thought cannot directly override subconscious beliefs. If a child were left all alone with a serving of his favourite food and told he wasn't allowed to eat it, what do you think would happen?

"Do you blame others when you could be blaming yourself?" I place blame where blame is due. Unless you're retarded, so should you. There's a very fine line between taking responsibility and self-deprecation - just look at Cam (or, hell, anyone else in this thread) and you'll see how unhealthy it is to blame yourself unnecessarily.

    Where's the Utopia?

This is a bit hard to explain. A sanctuary is a nice, pleasant thought, but it is ultimately antisocial. Like castle walls protecting a king or psychological barriers protecting a fragile heart, a sanctuary will be seen as a place where external influences cannot be allowed in. One may even become aggressive in defending its sanctity. Rather than shutting the world out, one should accustom oneself to its chaos.

When did I ignore anything? :s
I still believe in the core part of utopianism despite other parts being proven wrong.
I blame myself and strive to improve, as is a good way to live your life.

"Blame" is just a word with negative connotations. To rephrase it, those who are responsible should be responsible.
