I look to just say "oh there he is" and work from there, my friend have a bad habit on sneaking up on me...because I basically put a big X on someone (the one not doing anything in the match XD) and it goes from there.

So a quick glimpse, because we played with power weapons/explosives, if your off guard then your dead!

By glimpse I meant the odd thing you caught out of the corner of your eye, not actually glancing at your opponent's screen to glean whatever information you can.

Hrm, but even at the corner of your eye you can catch alot of information, by half a second I can see where a player is, with a radar active I could then work a path to where I last looked.

That would be it, when I first started doing full on "screen watching" I'd look for 5 seconds, work out player movement, and then I'd die by a barrage of bullets from another player I didn't watch over...

If I wanted to be evil and risk getting shot again, I could "glimpse" every few seconds when i thought I was safe and work out a proper attack plan, and work like a terminator to bring them down.

Only one time I did this, the guy was in a hard place to find (like in snebber's story) but thankfully I had an grenade launcher...BANG BANG!

co-op is so much more fun, working together is the way forward.
no more complaining about screen watching and you get to play the same game!

See there is your problem, you usually win. Them guys where cheating no doubt about it but as you say you usually win. Solution is find a game that levels the playing field or stop hosting game nights where you pick the game to play. Make a rule - host never picks the game.

Nice one Hypnos, I'll bet your brother gets a big kick from knowing he is genuinely helping his big bro play and not getting in the way, kudos to you for being a good brother.
