You can already run an R4 to play original games. I'm guessing 1 year still.

So, since it's been cracked for R4, is it done, or will the process continue until all cards work?

 

No one knows.
Only those that support the DSi though most likely.

 

So, I'd still hafta buy a new card. Oh well, I guess, as long as it's cracked and plays 3DS games, it's all good!!

 

Put it this way, until Big N decides to block DS games on the 3DS, carts like the DSONE/i, DSTWO, and any other cart that can be reflashed will likely work.

 

They have been reports that people running flashcarts have caused the 3DS to be bricked.

 

$250 down the drain.. I guess Nintendo's serious about this
