I myself have never really gotten into final fantasy, it's like books I like starting from the first in the series and I haven't played it so.....

I do still no some stuff about it and I'm guessing it'll be released in a year (no way I can lose :p)

Actually I think around XXXVII (or 37)

I'm certain it would never get up to that high of a number in the Franchise. They usually release a main number in the franchise (non spinoffs etc.) every 2 years or so. So I'm assuming you just got that list of Wikipedia or something?

No one counted Ehrgeiz, even amoung the spin-offs. I'm holding out for Final Fantasy Thirty.

The day hardcore gamers die out and is completely replaced by casual gamers is the day there are no more FFs or RPGs for that matter.

Maybe in the USA, but in Japan big name RPGs like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest are considered some-what casual. If not casual, then perfectly acceptable for pretty much anyone to play.

For those that never played this game, it was for the original 4 color Gameboy. And it was actually part of the Mana series, who knows why Square decided to release with with the Final Fantasy name in the US (Probably held more of a market here than Mana did at the time). Japanese title was something along the lines of "Legend of the Sword".
