A little late here but oh well...

Im a massive horror/gore/slasher buff, and yeah I agree horror movies are getting a little to repetitive. Though every now and then I find a good one. "Shrooms" was actually pretty good, and 1408 had a few nice twists. ".Rec" was fairly boring untill the very end but worth watching for sure. Though nothing beats old school. The Shining of course (and no not the friggin remake *vomits*), candyman and nightmare on elm street still take the cake :p

I have read The Stand, and it's one of my favorite books of all time, only to be outdone by The Dark Tower. The Dark Tower and The Stand tie in to one another. A lot of King's books tie into The Dark Tower, and Randal Flagg is in my opinion King's ultimate antagonist.

I have seen the movie adaptation of the book. For the most part it's faithful to the book, well worth watching if you have the time.

Alien isn't really Horror either. More of a Sci-Fi Action film. Would something like Sphere or Event Horizon qualify as horror? Those weren't really scary but on a psychological level I guess they were a little freaky. Thoughts?

The first Hostel was really cool. It wasn't a horror but it was really brutal and shocking to see how violent it was. You could tell Tarantino was involved. It's a really strange style of film, exploring two very different forms of human desire. People that watch this film just think "damn thats a really sick and brutal film with mindless violence", which to an extent is true. But the director is really trying to explore serious psychological issues of a person's subliminal desire to torture another human being. It is truly a shocking commentary on human nature, and it's a good film. The sequal was just mindless violence unfortunately. Eli Roth messed it up but he also wrote and directed Cabin Fever, which is another pretty good film.

Has anyone seen Cradle of Fear? It is a film starring a famous British heavy metal singer (Dani Filth). Been looking for it for a while but it is hard to track down. Might have to look for it online.

Hostel and Hostel 2. Those were really difficult for me to watch.(Just kidding)
Do you think they'll release a third movie in that series?

There is a third one planned but it won't be a big release. Won't be coming to cinema. It's not even being written or directed by Eli Roth. Most likely be a straight to DVD release.

I have come to find that most direct to DVD releases suck.
Event Horizon messed with my head. That was one fucked up movie. I like it though. Not horror, but decent sci-fi.

Hollywood loves sequels. There will probably be a Hostel 15 in a couple of years.

The Shining kicks ass. I also saw The Langoliers. It kinda confused me in a way, but it was still freaky.

The Fly was a legendary horror film. They should remake it.

Has anyone seen The Amityvile Horror? That film was based on a true story. I once saw a documentary on it and in it they showed this photo someone took of a little boy looking out a doorway, when there was no children on the property during the police search. It was one freaky photo I must say.
