Hi I haven't posted on this forum before mostly because ive been a member of your site for a while and been completely satisfied with it so no reason. I thought though if I could I might shed some light on something that is likely closely related to this. http://demandprogress.org/blacklist/ I have read this bill which unfortunately if something isn't done will pass. This thing effectively in very broad and hard to understand for most terms would allow the gov to not only censor but if they deem it necessary take down any site to quote the bill which is not commercially justifiable. As well as any site hosting copyrighted material. It also attempts to require isps to censor such sites as well. This would cover torrent sites like demonoid game sites such as this fine site, and im sure as our government always does with a little abuse they can stretch it to being able to remove sites they don't like for other reasons. I love the wording not commercially justifiable that pretty much can be manipulated as it is to do what they want. I know this is the wrong thread but after reading this I feel so bad about whats happening to this place.

I think you could list all games and then pick the ones out that do NOT have to do with the ESA...I think it will cost less time then this.

But yeah you've already gotten most games so I think this is the best way of doing it.

 

Truth be told, I think the ESA just wants to make every single download, even the non-copy protected ones, unavailable for download making this site 100% download free. I would hate it if came to that, but maybe you should find out more specifics?

i wonder why ESA is not happy if we are still playing their games

 

The Entertainment Slaughtering Alliance still doesn't have the rights to take down ROMs released by non-members. They'd at least need consent from non-member companies if they decided to.

Would they get money from these games anyways? Last I checked, anything later than GBA cant be bought in stores and GBA games are hard to find new, in which case i think the producers dont get a cut...

 

Oh but they can still market/sell old games, thanks to the Wii's Virtual Console, Sony's PSN & Microsoft's own version of the latter. That's why they don't want to let go of older games.

I actually saw a PS1 game NEW and wrapped in a walmart this year...NFL Football 2004 or something.

Well I'm from a country where the majority of the populace never heard of American Football & most males are either Basketball fans, billiards enthusiasts or numb skulls who think that Boxing is kewl.

Also as I said, I'm not into sports games in general.

 

I predict that a fare percentage of games will still be available because some of the older PSone games (PSX) are not on playstation network (yet) so the only way to avoid a complete shut down is to keep posted on the playstation network and wii ware stores (as wii ware has a vurtual console to play N64 games, NES and SNES all we have to do is keep updated on whats on there stores as they are making mony from the product so the we will have to band that download.) So we can avoid a major shut down but just barely and eventually this will be a site for sega and atari games. I am sorry to tell nthis but it is the truth unless the companys choos to ditch the title and the the creators of this site will be able to by the licence to the title. P.S GBA and GBC games should still be safe prmenantly
