Most of the weapons are pretty good in terms of power. The only one I personally think needs to be nerfed is the Shotgun. It's FAR to accurate. Everything else is fine though.
Not really, the focus rifle (covenant sniper, remade sentinel beam) is quite noticeable where the person is using it, the covy grenade launcher equivalent has a long charge time and can be dodged if the player is smart enough. The DMR is a nerfed BR (which is good), the Needle rifle is good, the Needler is about the same, the Assault Rifle is good short, medium and meh long range, by the time you have to reload, you have to switch to your pistol to kill the guy long range (which is the point of the pistol). The pistol is good, the plasma repeater is a good alternative to the AR. Grenade Launcher is powerful but can suck depending on the user, and I think that's it for the beta, oh yeah, the sword is a bit underpowered (people can block now) and the shotgun is good. Grenades are powerful, as they should be, it's like Halo CE grenades minus the throw distance. Imo, things are going to get nerfed but I think for the most part are balanced and still have a reason to switch to other weapons. Thank god the BR is out of the game, that was the best weapon is Halo 2 and 3 and made them boring to me.
I love the needler. That is by far my favorite gun ever. I don't know why, it is just incredible. That and running around with the Covenant energy sword in Halo 2 were my favorite things to do. If it's anything like Combat Evolved though, this will be the best Halo game since the first one.
I love the DMR, it's my favorite so far. It's nice and powerful, but it's not gonna totally own everything that moves. The Pro-Pipe (Grenade Launcher) is good, if you know how to use it. I've made very good use of it's fuse delay feature, such as making it burst next to some dude in the air. The Plasma Pistol is actually useful now, which is nice, it doesn't take an entire battery to kill somebody with it! I still find the Shotgun to be too accurate, I can take down people mid range with it in about 2 or 3 shots, which doesn't seem right. The Pistol is really sweet, you can take out a person with about a single magazine (With a few rounds to spare). And yeah, the rest are fine.
I'm really, really excited for Halo Reach. Looks a lot better then Halo 3, probably going to pick it up on day one.
I don't care about the weapons too much. I care about the gameplay, story, music and of course the art. By the way, Killzone 2 is a cheap graphical trick.
YES and it is unimpressive for me. Well, I've played Crysis, Crysis:Warhead and of course modded Crysis (better than Crysis 2 on consoles). Killzone 2 has a few graphical tricks to make it good. Like not having an open world like Crysis. Motion Capture not simulated, on the fly physics. Predetermined A.I, "blurs" to make it looks good. Visually, it is inferior to Crysis or Metro 2033 but it is better than Halo: Reach. Yet, gameplay wise it is not good. It is mediocre and just another FPS. Halo: Reach is better even in the beta and we haven't touch the campaign yet.
cant wait for this game, too bad i couldnt try the beta and i wont be able to get it till christmas...
I compared Killzone 2 to Crysis-a game from 2007. Crysis on PC looks better than Crysis 2 on consoles. Crytek said that themselves.
Well that's quite obvious, but the games still look great regardless. I'm getting Crysis 2 on PS3 though, it's the best looking of the two console versions. Anyways, I am super stoked for Halo Reach! I saw a video that shows all the unlockable armor pieces, as well as all the voices you can have on your character in firefight (So totally gonna use Kat's voice, sexy Russian accent :3 ). The armor effects look really cool too. One is when killed you'll explode with confetti, another is you explode with hearts, and then the others are greenish pestilence with bugs floating around you, and pulsating with electricity.
Source please. It'sprobably true, but a link would be nice. Anyway, my fanboy sense is tingling. Reach is going to be average. Beta's unbalanced, and as for the graphics? Dress it up all you want, kids, the fact of the matter is that the 360 is five-year-old hardware with a tendency to overheat. You're not going to get much out of it than what's already done, especially in terms of dynamic rendering and textures and shit.
The guys who are making Crysis 2 said it themselves. And it was leaked. You unlock them via spending credits in the game. The Beta was fairly balanced for the most part, but Bungie listened to the fans and said that they balanced anything in need of balancing. And I don't quite understand your argument about the graphics. The graphics looks very good so far. I've been following Reach very closely, so I know quite a bit about it, and then if you just go on YouTube you can see videos of leaked stuff. Like the Armor Effects, visor colors (There isn't very many, unfortunately), ALL the armor pieces, all the character voices you can use in Firefight mode, as well as some other stuff.
Killzone 2 has nothing to do with the topic you raised... Gee. If I had an xbox I'd probably get Halo reach to try it, I guess i'll be borrowing a friends xbox at one point.
The Jasper doesn't overheat and it comes with 3 year warranty. The 360 Slim doesn't have any problems so far. Besides, the Slim looks extremely sexy. [:
