alright then mate lets just say bad parenting whick they led to the child shooting the parents the report shows nothing on the parents saying hey son go ahead pull the tigger we dont mind but wat does halo 3 show it has guns and all the rest of the stuff it could even come from a form of a retardtion of the form of frontal lob damage which controlls our persona which a game such as any sort could led to mate buddy

The parents did not teach him right and wrong, they did not teach him to separate fantasy from reality. I was playing duke nukem 3D at 8 years old and I've never shot anyone.

^Yeah!^ I played GTA III when I was 9! And I played resident evil when I was 6! Am I dangerous? No, not really...

So geffo's name should be changed to gtfo

how many broken bones? normally your mobile even with broken legs, keeps the atrophy away. and if it comes down to disability, parents should be fully aware of any problems with the child, it ALL comes down to NEGLECT!!!

there is no excuse unless the child was severely ill, then it truely comes down to, why were the parents neglecting this child when they were ill, enough to not monitor what the child was doing.

i may be messed up but i am sort of glad when things like this happen, maybe a reality check for the idiot parents, backside is the super idiots run and complain instead of learning the lesson.

maybe we should spend trillions of $$$ and develop game cases that shock the crap out of anyone who thinks of or gives the game to the kid, and the kid who touches it.

the safety parental stuff on the 360 is outrageous. then it comes down to stupidity with a poor password. blocking stuff down to "friend only" "no download" "no user content" "GAME RATINGS"

bah, they get what they deserve.

damn, sorry the post is confusing, im pissed.

Just goes to show that the quality of parenting is dwindling.

...unstable people are to blame for this stuff, not the game for god's sake!

Stupid people are also to blame for re-enacting acts from games such as, well, mortal kombat (still remember the story where a kid threw a knife at another kid to re-enact a move from the game, must really like scorpion...)

It can be partial blamed on the parents since

1.they didn't stop him from having thier son having that gun

2.should have taken notice that the kid might have troubles with ethier anger issues (like mine-glad something is being done) or with reality itself (I met a kid that was like every anime character ever made-even the girly ones, which is disturbing since he would quote every cartoon you can ever imagine...and his mother didn't take much notice of this sadly... but we went to the same school so I guess it was help)

3.parents should cheack on the kids level of gaming, some are addicts that are losing more than a sence of reality, like my brother-he's only 13 and has the anger of an alcholic-glad guns aren't so easy for him to find-or to get!

BTW sorry if any of what I said didn't fit-the link wouldn't work so I just guessed the parents tried to pry the dude off the machine and he got pissed...ethier that or they surprised him whiole he was playing and got shocked severly...most cases are like those 2...

yeah i'm tired of the media blaming everything on games even though it doesn't cover the whole story it just pisses me off how then the parents overblow it so much ugh annoys the crap out of me people just have to figure out theres a difference between a game and reality and you're not going to get some achievement for getting a head shot in real life instead u get to be raped in jail

It's quite obvious that his parents didn't spend much time with him. It's sad that a child could do this to their parents. What a sick world we live in.

LOL...before blaming games as the source of our over-eagerness for violence, they should look at the person's background and history. (s)He may have a history of mental or emotional afflictions that could result in violence. True, games nowadays are influencing the young but a violent video game may have been the on-switch that brought out the murderer within...

Even a heated argument unrelated to games could spark violence.

That is true-video games arent the cause, but just become a trigger for certain people...

I doubt just anyone would become violent after playing games for awhile...

And besides-what happened, happened in a short time (in my opinion-video game addict for over 15 years now!!!) so obviously the guy became depressed, and depressed people can become aggressive because they lose control of thier emotions-soem are saddened, some go beserk, take away all they have left (or just stop them a little) can really switch them-into what depends on what thier emotional state...

But I have a thought-most of these incidents have been guys-so what does this mean-are the girls smart enough to not go game-crazy or just they swing towards the sad side, and somehow, get help?

Or we guys really live up to our reputation as past hunters-just like all creatures.
