    lolz

I may only use the 190 GB drive because "in case something happens with it we can replace it".

    That leaves 310 GB unused.

How do you cool your cpu? Is it well ventilated? or do you just depend on the casing fan for cooling your cpu?

intels chuck out FAR more heat than AMDs do. plus any processor will shut off it gets too hot.

Oh you. Loony's right, Intel puts out far more heat. The original Phenom series did put out some decent heat, but nothing really out of the ordinary and the Phenom II solved that.

I did not use the Phenom series anyway. I used AMD Sempron in my old computer.

Anyway this processor is thrice as fast as my other one so I'm happy with it.
If my computer turns off automatically once doesn't matter me.

It should. If a computer EVER turns off while you're using it there are serious problems that need fixing ASAP.

...so when it turns off automatically it probably isn't Intel causing it?

    Sorry, now I'm confused @.@

turning itself off for no apparent reason is a protection mechanism to prevent damage. Intels produce more heat and thus need better cooling than the equivalent AMDs. If your computer just turns itself off when it's being used then there is something wrong and it is most likely to be overheating.

    Aha. Got it.

My dad says it's faster then his, and his is already mega fast..

But back to the question: is it a good computer?

No, it isn't. The pentium D is even older than the core 2.

At least if it works then I'm happy. I do not care if it's older then my grandma.

rofl! i don't know why everyone is giving you flak for your computer?!
i guess it is necessary to have a quad or an octo core to run a web browser to surf the net or to social network! if you check facebook or myspace, there is a computer requirement that says you must have at least 16gb of ram, 5tb of hard disk space, quad or octo core processor at speeds of 3ghz and a graphic card that uses the dx11 program. other wise it won't be able to use facebook or myspace!

maybe it's for the computer games. but that would be focused on graphic card and for some reason, games like starcraft 2 and torchlight uses the latest dx9. it makes sense. buy a $200 card to play a dx9 game. logical! 100%! i could see some super cool person spend a bunch of money for the fermi video card to play starcraft 2 because spending all that money is super cool for the latest tech.

i don't know why they would suggest that games take a huge space and it would be a problem. when people are done with a game, they either leave it on their hard drive or delete it. well if they leave it on their computer it takes space. but why leave it on the computer since you're done with the game? if you delete the game it won't hurt you in any way? nor does it hurt your save files since you can save them. there is also the problem with pc gaming where it has slowed down. so what game is there to be excited about??

The processor is old and outdated. The RAM is low. And you can get much bigger hard drives for not much more. No, you don't need need the most powerful hardware to run social networking or browse the Internet, but serious computer users use much more then just that and need more powerful hardware. There is a lot more besides games, like multitasking, video encoding, HD video streaming, photo editing, etc.

You DO need a pretty great/expensive graphics card to play recent games smoothly, especially online FPS. I bought a $70 graphics card awhile back and now playing Starcraft 2 I wish I had a better one. As far as hard drive space goes, you can never have enough. The smaller your hd is the less time it will take to fill up and have to be cleaned out. I personally like having many movies/games at once, so it's very useful to have space. There are quite a few very good PC games. Not to mention getting a good computer now will ensure a longer time before you have to buy a new one as technology is outdated so quickly.

you're still getting more flak! lol!
dual cores are outdated! that's why it's important to have quad and octo cores to run a web browser to surf the net and social network on facebook and myspace. you'll also need the extra 8 cores later next year as the 16 core processor is slated for release by intel. i also can't believe there are a lot of retailers selling dual core processors out in the market?! what the hell are these retailers doing by selling outdated products?

that 2gb isn't enought for windows 7 or windows vista. heck those two operating systems will still have problems if you have 12gb of ram. windows 7 and windows vista needs a minimum of at least 32gb of ram and the recommended should be at least 64gb or 128gb.
