Ok I have just beaten call of duty 4 and it is awesome. but very short. I shouldn't have wasted my money on it. multiplayer didn't really keep me going. so I was thinking about getting mw2 but should I? is it just another short game? I'm not really going into that much on the CoD series I just want some good shooters. I was thinking fear but is there anything I haven't tried yet?

 

YES. MW2 is short. RUSHED. (though with bad-ass scripted sequences)
MP is pretty okay if you liked it in the first place.

 

and it probably used the same engine as cod 4

 

seems pretty expensive. much more than mw. I'm going to grab a torrent and test it before I get enough to buy it

 

Most FPS these days emphasize on Multiplayer, so you can expect the campaign to be short.

 

yeah i cant think of a fps with a good campaign except half life 1,2

 

He should get The Orange Box.
Half Life 2, HL2 Episodes, Portal and TF2 are all good FPS (portal isn't really FPS though )

 

If you want an amazing single player experience I would suggest Grim Fandango. Don't play Grim Fandango unless you don't like point and click adventures, but to me that game has everything! Even if you have never played a point and click adventure game, it's something to start with.
