What if you put a human's mind into a dog, will that human still be considered human??

Or if a human's mind is put inside a Chimpanzee, said to be very closely related to us, will he still be considered human?

Or the Dolphin, another intelligent being, having such intelligence couldn't it be considered human-like??

No. It would be a dog with a person's mind. A chimp with a person's mind.

And dolphins are dolphins, not humans. It doesn't matter how smart they are.

it depends on your view points and the politics you favor. but it may not be considered human even though it has the mind of a human in an animal as what seperates us from animals is being able to use tools.

i'm taking an industrial revolution class which focuses on labor. we read arguements that reasons labor and the motives [development of money, hourly structure, etc...] and there was an instance where we discussed that humans use tools and animals do not. so if the monkey with the human brain is able to use tools, then it is considered a human being, other wise your just a monkey.

so a crow that makes and uses tools is a human?

    Most apes (primates) use tools

And otters use a rock to crack open a mussel shell

Some birds use sticks to reach insect larvae inside trees

    Does that make them human??

    those aren't tools.

yes they are, a tool is something used to assist in carrying out a task,

Like stick for gathering insects ---> Chimpanxees & some birds

A Hard sharp rock ---> otters

Tools in the most basic sense.

diffrence in brain capacity...i dont think that will work without any form of data compression.

but for arguement sake, If we put human mind into a Main Frame, will that make him a human? its really depend your point of view on what is a human and what is not, but technically a main frame with human mind in it still a machine because it doesnt have the biological feature to be class as human, but then if we download a dog mind into a human body, will that make him a human?

Human counts for the Species, not the brain, don't forget that, humans can be entirely stupid, and we call them humans, they can be brilliant, and still they are humans, a parrot that can solve a brain puzzle in less than 10 seconds, that's brilliant, but he's not human

Being a human is being one in PHYSICAL FORM, even a brain transplant, you ahve a human brain, but another animal's body, you ahve a human organ, so we can call you some sort of human, but in species, your that animal

    UNDERSTAND?

    Exactly.

You answered it yourself. You called them apes, not humans. Just like the post of kamage above. Once you resemble a human, you're considered a human.

Ok so is Asimo human? As you said anything resembling a human can be considered human, plus it to has a limited yet analog form of intelligence

Is a terminator human, ok it's fictitious but is it??

Are Greys human?? Ok they're Aliens & might be fictitious but they do look human, are they??

My last post was for nomercy & kamage

Umm I hope my last posts didn't make me sound like a jerk guys, 'cause I'm only stating opinions for the sake of the argument "What really makes a human"

Plus it seems we've strayed away from the main topic of this thread :-[

Nah, you're not a jerk. It's nice to see how you keep killing your own arguments. :)

Thank you for bringing up the Terminator example. He is the perfect example of something that you can define as human. It looks like a human, walks like a human, talks like a human (well, attempts, but that's just arnie) and acts like a human. Besides, it's played by a human, just sustaining the idea that the terminator is human. If you didn't know better he would be human, not an exoskeleton with a human skin, limited vocabulary, bad accent and intent to kill or protect.

Asimo is a robot, it's not as sophisticated as a human (yet). It's like the predecessor of a terminator.

And why the alien? Currently it really doesn't look like a human. It's grey, has no ears, nose and has strange eyes. Besides that it could be classified as human, something like a caveman looking at the proportions of the rest of the body.

well for asimo and terminator, those are Android, amachine that look like a human. as for grey, do they belong in the primate class like human do?

okay, remember how i said being a human is PHYSICAL?

Remember, Asimo is physically a Machine, and Termanator is a human, due to the fat that he is an android, a human with mechanic parts, I think that's waht an android, or he's fully machine, I'm not sure...

there is a reason why we class those machine as android and not human.......last time i check a human with machanical part is call a cyborg, not android.

if you said a human is merely a physical, then anything with humanoid feature such as transformers, terminator, gundam or voltron will be consider as human......
