Using the term gamer girl and finding girls who play video games hot don't equate to objectifying a girl. No one should be ashamed of being turned on for being aroused by the fact of a cute girl who has fun playing video games. And the fact that a gamer girl being droved by "weirdos"? I take that as a low blow. These "weirdos" who drove these attractive women are either just plain men, gamers or not, for either way you put it, a man is a man, who will always be attracted to a beautiful woman. And so far, no one has thrown "Slut" or "Whore" around. And theres no need to censor that. Slut and Whore are words in the dictionary, and sure they are offensive in context, but not in meaning. Still stays in the PG13 limits.

I'm a girl, so I don't find girls who play video games especially attractive (though I do think they're generally more fun to hang out with). :P

I just hate it when girls play video games just to impress guys or when guys disrespect girls in online and co-op games.

I agree with MysticMaja. I would treat a girl with respect whether or not she enjoyed videogames.

While guys can be fun to talk to online, don't get me wrong, but most of the time they talk stupid stuff and I know since most of my friends and cousins are guys. After a while playing online you kinda grow tired about listening to a guy explain how he had 'Pwnz0rd' another player with his 'Wicked Sick' headshot.

I have never found it creepy or degrading when a male thinks it is cool that I am a "gamer girl". It just means that I have more potential to actually get along with the guy as a friend or more. It is not degrading by my opinion to be called a "gamer girl". After all it is what I am a female gamer.

When you're finished being a white knight, you should see Natalie swear like a sailor on XBL. Or hear the chicks on my Vent channel when the pressure's on.

i admit girls who play games once in a while are kinda cool,i even saw some in cafes near my home playing dota and they're good-lookin'...almost. But a gentleman treats girls equally.

This post is getting more replies then I expected :)
I, speaking for many respectable males out there, would treat a girl with utmost respect even if she forced me to do something that I don't like.

I've seen a lot of threads like this on other forums, and it usually ends with guys being sexist or girls ranting at guys.

As for my opinion on the subject, I couldn't really care less.
If A girl plays video games, great,
    and if they don't, great.

This is like saying girls find guys who like the "Twilight series" attractive.

I wasn't talking about the rights and wrongs of general profanity, but rather the way male gamers specifically attack female gamers with phrases tailored to being offensive to women.
Also, disapproving of verbally abusing women makes me a White Knight? WOW!, I'm no fan of raping or beating them either; godhood here I come!

Nothing's wrong with a girl playing video games for me, if they like it well..... they can play it.
It still surprise me when I see one though, because I rarely know one in my place here.

Danclubs, you're pretty much completely missing the point. I don't care what turns people on, but personally, & I'm sure a lot of others agree, telling a girl you find her hot because she plays video games is a creeper move. I don't get weirded out by guys that react positively & ask what genres I like/what are my favorite series/how long have I been a gamer/whatever - just the ones that have a response like 'omg, that's really sexy!' That is objectifying a person. @_@ You can disagree & hit on girls however you want.

Thank you for the last sentence. That's all I really want to hear, letting me know that you're not telling people what to do. I don't really go forward with the "OMG that's sexy" but deep inside yes, whenever I see girls playing videogames, it's a turn on. Because honestly, who wouldn't want someone they can play with?
