    first game come to my mind is dragon quest IX, but since you don't like it, then i should recomend you other games,,, both disgaea and FFTA2 are strategy turn-based, so you're looking for that kind of games too?? i don't know any good strategy turn-based games other than that two except luminous arc, but you didn't like it also,,, why don't you try age of empires series, or fire emblem series, those are strategy turn-based games, i've never played it though,,, i'm not a fan of strategy turn-based,,

    oh, and before i forgot, try valkyrie profile series, i've played it, and i recomend it,,

    as for action adventure, you could try FFCC series or blue dragon,,
