I know how to change simple settings like these, but changing it back leads only back to where I was - black screen after character naming.

    Well that's lame. Hmm.

On a different note, when I try to load the rom in NO$ it just says the save data couldn't be accessed.

I'm pretty sure this is a simple fix in the options, I just can't remember what... >.<

How to add an AR codes on No$gba for Beginner.
    1) Run No$gba(or No$zoomer)
    2) Go to 'Utility' -> 'Cheats', or press F2
    3) Click 'Add New' button
    4) Put the AR codes(or copypaste it) to the top box(bigger one)
    5) and put the codes name on the bottom box, eg Pokemon SS/HG(optional).
    6) Click the 'Action Replay DS'
    7) Press the Ok button.
    8) There should be a new codes listed on the Cheats list.
    9) Double click the code(a tick should be appear next to the code, which is on the small boxes).
10)Click 'Ok' button, and then play the game.

This won't work. The idea of deleting guru2.narc was suggested by some troll on GBAtemp. Guru2.narc only contains some polygon data, not the AP code.

Just redownload no$gba again from the link below.

There is no need to change the NDS Backup media to solve to save issue.
Using both AR Codes with the encrypted rom will only resulted to random game freeze.

I figured that much, but it is not beyond reason that it has to do with the ap

Open the directory your .sav file is in on your flash cart, copy it into the directory your repacked HG/SS ROM is in, make sure they are named the same (e.g. heartgold.sav, heartgold.nds).

P.S. Is it possible for you to just upload the BIOS? I have my own, but for others. =p

I suggest use the original rom(not the encrypted one), and use the AR depending on which game you choose.
since I'm experiencing random crashes/freeze when using both bios and AR at the same time.

No crashes after playing it more than 6 hours(for now).

Hmmm how about using the Encrypted rom and the AR Code but disabling the code after bypassing the Black screen? will that do it?

Nope, random crashes/freeze still happen, I've already tested it.

The AR code itself can bypass the black screen, just make sure it to be active all the times.

encrypted rom+bios is another method to bypass the black screen, but game freeze occur after a while.

So, the AR code alone with the original room and "start cartridge directly" will make you able to play the game AND experience no freezing? Or will it still freeze sometimes?

Yes, at least to the point where I'm at now.

    Trust me, it'll still crash

Hmmm weird, i've been playing for 30 mins now and i haven't got a single crash or anything like that

Tryed the the firmware that's built for R4 original, kernal v1.24 (bate) , from www.r4li.com , but it still freezed...

Just have to wait untill a real patch is made.
