[FIX] Fixed Heart Gold (U) (No$)

Weird, this new fix doesn't work for me at all. Firstly the black screen code doesn't work and when I used the old one i could play like 2 minutes then came the microphone in wave failure or something. Also it is quite strange that I have collected 8 badges and I'm going to the Elite Four and I have encountered only minor freezes and crashes using only an encrypted rom and the usual No$GBA2.6a

When you battle a trainer depending on how many events I guess 66 is the max number the game will freeze and you will see the pokeball moving around and around.

All you have to do is add action replay code to prevent the black screen for showing up or use the bios and save then exit the emulator and open it back up.

 

Just saying; if you've had a trainer loop.. then its NOT fixed. Therefore, the title of this thread is misleading. Such a thread should be reserved for the real fix.

I found the Anti-freeze code for Soul Silver useful for both SS & HG to get past the first black screen.

 

I've been playing Soul Silver without the fixed rom file but I used the BIOS provided from this thread. I beat Red, the "strongest" trainer in the game, not too long ago. Thing is, I've been playing since the day it came out. My computer kind of sucks and I'm using NO$GBA but my brother who has a better computer can't play it because it crashes every save. I don't think it has anything to do with the 24 event or anything.

For instance, on my computer, I've NEVER experienced a freeze even if I have played well over 24 events. However, I noticed that every once in a while, my emulator gets extremely slow with 1 or 0 fps for couple of seconds. Maybe this is where everyone's game freezes but mine just slows down for a while and goes back to normal. Anyone wanna tell me what's going on and why? I feel like we can help a lot of people play if we figure this out.

 

what did you patch with no$gba. if we were to find this out we could directly patch it with the nds file and play it normally on a normal no$gba. Also we could play it on our ds.

 

Maybe it just random....I also experience a random freeze/crash but still manage to beat Elite 4....

 

Ok, quick update for me.

I've been running a clean HeartGold rom with no$gba 2.6 with the AR "Black Screen Fix" code. I've been playing in sessions here and there so I know saving works. I've had one freeze so far but no crashes. I have the third badge and I'm glad to say I haven't had any problems with it. The only real problem I have is that when playing the Game Corner or the Pokeathlon for over about 5 minutes, it starts to slow down to 20%, but since all that's optional and everything else works fine, I'd say it's working quite well.

 

Is the AP the cause of these freazings? if i use this fix will it make it stop freezing on no$gba?

 

If you turn it off after you're using it, the screen will go black or the game will crash after a while.

It will not stop the freezing, and just make the game to pass the black screen problem.

 

Super noob here.... First time at these kinds of things.... Call me retarded and whatnot but "Encrypted Cartridge, requires files biosnds7.rom and biosnds9.rom" when I already have those files? What do i do after this?

 

You also need Bios.Rom to pass the black screen.

But to be easy, just use the AR codes.

 

A warning to everyone, for some reason, the game doesn't like me using the Bicycle. Every time I've gotten it, I went to save n it crashed on me... makes me mad, I like Bikes.

 

just beat morty and saved then i closed my NO$GBA and now it wont let me load my save. everytime i try it just crashes. anyone knows how to get past this one?

 

For some reason my rom crashes after I beat lance (after the credits roll)

 

if you take off the AR code after you start then you will have no problem trust me i tried

 

this fix is almost useless now that the rudolph patch v2 something something is around. i tested it and after well over an hour of playing soul silver - fighting trainers, going in and out of buildings, and encountering pokemon in KANTO i didn't encounter any freezing. saving works fine too. though i think you need to have the firmware.bin file or else it wouldn't work.
