Doesn't sound familiar? It was years ago. I later saw the usual loadout of Pokemon and DBZ, then Shinzo and (the dub) Cardcaptors.

The first one I saw while aware it was anime was Death Note and the first subbed was the latter half of Code Geass R2.

 

I actually thought the dub was okay

 

First anime i saw was either DBZ, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Digimon, or Cardcaptors.
yes, i know two of those are girlish animes

I think you'll find the biggest fanbase for the 'girlish' ones are males anyway so no worries

Dude, what do you all know about CAPTAIN TSUBASA, where I lived in the middle east, it was called Captain MAJID, and it was the best thing I ever saw, so many memories... I didnt even rrealize I was watching anime till later, when I really began to get into anime, then I reexamined my early childhood cartoons and realized they were anime too: Others included Macross, Shanshiro (awesome), Ninja Turtles (Hell YEAH), Mowgli, also and an anime that was dubbed in Arabic to the name Wadi al Aman, as well as few girly anime used to also come on that my sister watched, and others I cant even remember anymore, all I watched between ages 3 to 9.
