First Desmume X432R now this not a bad year for handheld emulation.
Looks like we might have our first really working 3DS emulator.

Even if the Full version is a paid version when it comes out, those who are unwilling to pay can get a pirated copy.

Finally!

We get the ignition for the 3DS emulation. From what i can guess, i think it could take a minimum of about 1 year for us to get a possible commercial games playable version (though the quality might not be that good like all initial stage emulators). The reason i considered this time frame is because of the Pokemon Games.

I remember the time NDS emulation was in its initial stages. Until 'Pokemon DP' was released, the pace at which the emulators were being developed was really slow (some could play commercial games, but they weren't that good). But once they were released, we got our first good quality commercial games playable version within a few months of the release.

Considering that by the time the 'Pokemon DP' games were released the NDS had been completely hacked (if i remember right) but it still took a few months to get a proper emulator version. This time it may take a bit longer because the 3DS haven't been hacked completely (though it seems that the hacking process has sped-up considerately since the release of 'Pokemon XY').

Based on what the developer said, it doesn't seem like he is planning to make a 'Pay Version' for the emulator yet (at least not until we get a commercial games playable version), but he may start running a donation system in the future when he had developed the emulator a lot further.

it's a been wile i realy hope would doing add run commercial roms soon enought and finaly this is the real one not anymore fakes.

 

Well i can wait.... most of the games i want to play for the 3DS are still Japan only and no news about localization. Wonderful news.

Its about the fact Desmume will not make a 3DS/2DS(only 1DS hehe)emulator. Not his fault since HE IS STILL PERFECTING THE ONE HE WORKING ON FOR FREE!!!!

 

this is why i want to play my favorite 3ds japanese games and other commercials when citra become more stable.

 

Making Citra able to play commercial games is a long way off.
Not weeks or months, but really years. It's a good start, it being able to run homebrew, but it won't be able to play normal games for a LONG time.

 

Agreed, but is an open Source for them good programmers are wiling to put some of there own work in.

Don't have any other useful information about this so wont make a new Topic for this now.
The only Info I found about this was

Seems a lot of people have taken interest in emulating the 3DS, even though they wont get any where at the moment, Its a good Start.
I Just hope they continue their Project and that it doesn't die off.

By the way just a thought,
Wouldn't it be better if more people joined and contributed to an Existing Project rather than begin their own?

It's nice to see people trying even though they haven't got very far yet.
