well it's more complicated than that... the a.i. is quite clever,but still... there will be some stupid decisions by your characters. Importers can testify on this. There are also quite a lot of hypotetical scenario from FF veterans/fans who explained how this can ruin a battle for you.Check it out, you'll see what i mean.

I like to have my strong guys put in the big attacks then use a weaker character to finish them off or heal me if needed, I also like to pick off the strong enemies first.
Hope the A.I is good, I hope they haven't spoilt it....

The AI is pretty good. When i played the Jap the first boss was pretty hard, kept me healing myself nearly every turn.

i played the jap version too, for about 5h, if i remember correctly. well, from what i could do, the game is very nice. the random battles are nice and easy in the beggining, however, if u r not careful, u might die by a simple minion (i did ._.). what is realy satisfactory (and hard, even with a good a.i.) is the boss battles. u need to think ahead of yourself; heal or not heal? that might cost u a character life.

what im saying is: dont judge before hand. if u are annoyed by the new BS, give it a try in the jap rom.

I just tried the jap rom and I can't understand a thing, I cant even win a battle because I dont know what im picking lol

Game based on Mage Fans... Since auto targeting meele is useless.

Personally I didn't had much reasons to play this game. Since now i know that they f**** up the battle as well.... screw it.

EDIT:

Wait, what?

People spam heals on boss fights since the 90's. There is not even need to think much.
Not healing every round is stuff of the kiddie easy RPGs of nowadays.

The battle aren't ****** up. Th battle system is pretty good.

I know.

Square is a well capable game developer. This FF game will be epic like any FF before it was.




But:

If i am to get a game over in a battle in the game, I want to get it because of my own mistakes.
Not because the stupid PRNG (Pseudo-Random Number Generator) made my character attack the wrong mob and my team got lolpwnd.

The new battle system requires more strategy than previous ones.
