Female Gamers

Well, if the double standard didn't exist, then guys wouldn't try to cash in on it. The street goes both ways.

I've heard of girls who will go as a guy character (or simply not act in a sexually representative way) to avoid scrutiny and extra attention.

 

I've done this a couple of times. I was about to do it in a MMORPG game I was going to play with my friend but his bulge couldn't get any bigger so I chose for a girl.

I know on PS3 games, I either don't talk or I have the voice modulator thing to make my voice sound lower. It works wonders and avoids the hassle. I kinda wish Live had a similar feature.

The thing is, is that PC gamers are generally more mature about it. I've played TF2 many a times and no one commented on how I was a girl playing the game. While I could play the same game on the Xbox and people freak out.

 

its a shame how many great games are on xbox and how many reetards play it. i dont know why its soo popular with mongs

 

It's popularity is because it's the best online console experience, and it is. Xbox Live is really good, it's just that the users who are on it aren't always the best people ever. But people are bound to ruin everything.

 

It's nice to have a girl friend that plays video games. My actual girl friend doesn't have any respect for it, and it becomes a major offense just to mention them. My ex girl friend was the same. She would say the sound and music would bother her, I mute it, then the sounds of the controller clicking would annoy her... It's like I'm a complete immature looser because I enjoy video games.
I do understand that video games are not a necessary thing, they are a waste of time, or just something to pass the time (that I can do for 12 hours in a row...) But hell I like it! I've been doing it since I'm a kid.

Therefore to find a girl that do enjoy them is priceless. I think they are very rare.

Fun fact : I used to play rainbow six on Xbox live (the first one) and there was this girl everyone would tease her she had a sexy voice. So we all imagined a sexy girl playing. Then there was this real life rainbow six tournaments I attended to with my clan (and we kicked some serious ass there BTW) and she was there, she was a fat chick LOL No offense meant she was a lot of fun to talk to and would give candies to everyone. It was just funny that seeing her destroyed the sexy girl we all imagined.

I think this is the part that makes all the difference in the debate between male and female roles in gaming. A female who does not like it, would not be able to understand the fun you get from playing. She wouldn't understand why you just spent 6 hours to get to the next part of your game. I've heard from my guy friends that their girls think they are "little boys" and immature. That's just mean. Another point made is that females are treated differently in games. This is true. It has always been true. It's because of the ditsy ones that this happens. The ones that play a game, mess up, and giggle. That fat girl you met, I'm sorry, but a major gamer doesn't exercise as much as they should or could for that matter...what did you expect? The point of this is, the only person who can accept you as a gamer, may only be a gamer themselves. I hear hell from my boyfriend, when i don't want to go out because i want to be on my game at 7pm sharp. He plays ps3 once a month tops. He doesn't understand. It's the other way around for us females.

 

Its good to know that the new members arn't slacking with 1 word respones

I agree with Asche there.

People should play games if they want to get some enjoyment from it, not because they want to have some reputation.

I see many people have problem with their girlfriend because of video games. It's a good thing that I don't have any girlfriend though, and if I do I wish she's a gamer just like me. ;D

I worked at EB games here for abit, one day i saw a dude and his girlfriend walking in and he was real keen to look at some games, but she grabbed his arm before they went into the shop and said 'No! I am not going in there with you.' -__-
