if it gets made its gonna suck they screwed up with DBZ they'll probably screw up this too but if Hideki Anno will do the script and picks the actors maybe it could be good

Since those marvel comics movie adaptation went so well, maybe more directors would be interested in adapting animes into movies.

The success of Astroboy may sadly determine if this movie happens or not, but I did hear last year that John Woo is now one of the producers, which makes me really excited. Besides, the man behind it has got some real passion. It's still listed on WETA's projects. It can still happen.

...and Uwe Boll will stay very, very far away, as will Michael Bay.

 

No the producer for now is Joseph Chou, they have the financing, the only thing holding them back is the complexity of the story
how can you put a 26 episodes series + movie in 2 hours of live-action?

 

most likely would end up as a trilogy, EP 1-8 on movie 1, 9-16 movie 2, and 17-26 movie 3.

They don't know if the American market will like the movie enough to have a big box-office hit so they can't risk the budget to make 3 movies

 

Who said anything about American box office? Last I knew some Japanese companies were looking into it.

 

No it's going to be an American project, but it's joint with Gainax so it's 50/50

 

i did see a teaser trailer somewhere it had to be official cause it actually had Eva unit 01 and Eva unit 02 standing side by side

No you didnt, you saw a fan made trailer. I've seen quite a few, many using scenes from games like Another Century's Episode.

Also if you note in the pictures it says Ray and Kate Rose instead of Rei and Auska Langly. Sadly these are both possible suggestions for English names for an EVA movie, which saddens me.
